So. We had a choice to make between two places and decided to leave one whale behind and come to Finback.
Total right move. Completely different vibe. Matty P was awesome as our bartender. On point. He made some great recommendations. I’ll second the lobster pot pie. Slamming.

If you are looking for a great burger or lobster roll and a beer this is the place to go. Great service and fun playlist!
Went back for a second night for bar food – rum wings were great and an awesome bartender

This place is great. The Bartender (didn’t catch his name) was a great friendly guy he makes great drinks and his recommendations were great. Fish n chips were great the lobster blt (special) was also great the short rib slider and chicken wings were also very good. The blueberry margarita was my favorite. Don’t skip this place.

Came here for a late snack but was sad that the chowder was lukewarm (they probably didn’t expect people to order soup so late). The ambiance reminded me of a hallmark movie dive bar with the Christmas lights. The blueberry cocktails were great!

Finback was 10/10 great decision for a 9:00 dinner option in downtown bar harbor. My husband had the butter chicken burrito, and I had the blackened fish sandwich. Both were super filling and very flavorful. Huge shoutout to Sara, who not only was a hostess, but also ran the ENTIRE restaurant as a waitress. She was super attentive and very nice. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and family that visit next

Smaller place with an extensive beer list and good food. Lobster is a little pricier here than other restaurants I visited but their non-seafood options are fantastic especially if you are “lobstered out.”

Great restaurant in Bar Harbor. We had a burger with waffle cut fries. It was soooo good. They have a large amount of different Tap Beer which are really good and cold.

Would come again.

I ordered the lobster pot pie thinking I was going to get lobster pot pie. The server handed me a lobster soup with a small light and flaky “biscuit”. I don’t like soup and that’s why I didn’t order soup- I ordered the pot pie thinking it would be so.

The server came to check on us and I asked if this was soup. He said it was the pot pie… as I hesitated to find a response, he mentioned that multiple customers he’s had had said something about the pot pie. I said yep… this isn’t pot pie. He was very aware and understood where I was coming from. I said I’d already eaten most of it and didn’t want to change meals, but if he came closer to when the dish arrived I would’ve asked for something else. It wasn’t pot pie, and I didn’t enjoy what I thought I ordered.

The server was very kind and offered to give us a discount. He came back and said he’d comp our alcoholic beverages instead of giving us half off since it was more of a discount.

We had been recommended this place on social media. With high expectations, and my partner LOVING his meal, personally I was very disappointed. We only had 36 hours in Bar Harbor and I was looking forward to a lobster pot pie!

The smashburger with the blueberry BBQ was delicious. The fries were overcooked.

They had open mic night and moved the tables all around us during our meal and it wasn’t a comfortable cozy relaxing experience in this establishment.

Disappointed. Should’ve tried somewhere else for our last night.

We got to Finback right when it opened which was great because it was the noon hour on a Saturday and everywhere was packed. My only goal was to get a lobster roll which I got here. There was a deal for a roll with waffle fries and a summer ale for $35. The roll itself was presented beautifully but I felt like the flavor was completely masked by the mayo based sauce on the lobster so I couldn’t taste the actual lobster at all. I did learn this is due to the freshness of the lobster. Which is really great to know but then I don’t really know what I was paying for if I couldn’t taste it so maybe I’m a bad judge for that. You decide.
The amount of lobster was also pretty small in comparison to the roll size and didn’t feel worth it for the price. The fries and tartar sauce were incredible though. Maybe I’m just not impressed by lobster rolls but I’m not sure I would say this is the place to get one. My partner got the fish and chips which was a huge portion and worth the money.
