My wife & FIL go here often this time I decided to join them. We were seated and i immediately smelled mildew/mold like something got wet and was not properly addressed. I wondered what was under those drop-ceiling tiles? Had to literally HUNT down our server for a 3rd place setting then again later just to pay our tab. Where did he DISAPPEAR to? I ordered the Calamari Fritti which wasn’t bad but I couldn’t eat it fast enough and the air conditioning vent was blowing directly on my plate make the Calamari COLD and inedible. For my appetizer I ordered the Chicken Filomena (their “Signature dish”). It had absolutely NO flavor whatsoever tasted like grease and salt. NO table cheese for any of the pasta dishes? Why do I have to hunt down my server to ask for things that should already be on the table? My FIL’s steak was well done when he asked for med-well and they gave the wife the WRONG pasta with her dish. Zoom in on the photo below to see the layer of grease on top of what Filomena’s calls their “marinara sauce.” My FIL told me this place has 3 locations with service like this I don’t see how? Never again.

Did a murder mystery party there! Beautiful place right on the water. Staff was really attentive and caring. Food, especially the parm, was fantastic!

Phenomenal! Incredibly clean from dining area to restroom. Greeted immediately by the hostess and seated right away. Michele is a friendly waitress who readily provided all of our needs. The bread was served warm with butter and side of peppers…yum. she then brought out a sesame seed bread as a refill. The house dressing was home made and excellent. The gnocchi was so good my brother ate every bite then cleaned the plate of gravy with some bread. My sausage and peppers sandwich was one of the best I ever had. And I have had a LOT! The French fries were ok….but who cares? Lol Then Michele brought out the dessert tray with half a dozen choices. I was very impressed which is not easy to do. The bus boy was very efficient as well.

Every part of this dining experience refreshed me. The waitress anticipated fresh coffee. The pizza for the 5 year old was delicious the next day as well at first offering. The salmon was tasty. It was a birthday celebration. Thanks for the night.

Only compliments. Was here for a date on a Saturday night. Our server and hostess, Anastasia, was excellent. The food was perfect Italian home cooking. Choice of seating area (lively bar area or quieter dining room). Great spot and will come back.

I went on a Monday night with my mother. From looking at their website I assumed it was a nicer restauraunt and we would be seated with white table cloth etc. Instead we were seated in the bar area which was a disappointment. No doubt we looked stupid; I was in dress shoes.

Filamenas Italiana in Blackwood is a flavorful and very lovely dining. Staff was friendly, food was good. Everything is the right proportion. The dessert I had was delectable. Chocolate with cheesecake filling. All deserts looked fabulous. Great rustic atomosphere.
