We went with 12 moments menu and could not stop saying “we just loved this dish and it’s the best we tasted ever” … after every single course!
We were mind blown by the taste and techniques used in each course, every bite had complex flavors and we could taste the time, effort and thoughtfulness that went into planning each course.
After our dinner, we were so excited that the chef even invited us to his kitchen and we interacted with the talented team. Being a food enthusiast and knowing something about working in such a high quality restaurant I was so grateful to have had this opportunity in witnessing the behind the scenes. It truly made my day! And I must say that I was so impressed with how humble the chef and his team were, we connected so easily and absolutely felt at home after talking to them.
I cannot wait to visit Lisbon once again to dine with them again and again!
The courses aka moments were all exceptional. We had the 14 moments with the Portugal wine tasting.
The views are awesome, the restrooms well appointed and the decor fitting for the space.
Chef Rui Silvestre has created a menu that is personal and thoughtful. Each dish reflects his family history and Portuguese heritage, and it is evident that a great deal of care goes into the preparation. The flavors are balanced and creative, the presentation is striking, and each course offers something unique. It is not just a meal, it is an experience that engages all of the senses.
Meeting Rui in person was an unexpected highlight. He is genuine, approachable, and clearly passionate about sharing his story through his cooking. That personal connection adds depth to the evening and makes it feel more memorable.
I do not want to give too much away because the experience is best enjoyed firsthand. Every bite was impressive, and the storytelling behind the menu made it even more special. If you are in Lisbon and appreciate high-level cuisine (of course you do you are in Portugal!) that is personal and meaningful, Fifty Seconds is a must-visit.
Service is outstanding. It shows that the staff loves what they are doing. We had lots of fun and there was no Detail missed. We had an amazing non alcoholic drink pairing. After I had made a joke about wanting to eat one of the amuse bouches “another 25 times” they served it again between courses.
The menu was one of the best we had in years. There were some really spicy components in the menu, which is unusual, as the michelin Chefs usually don’t dare to go above the “spicyness level” of regular western european food.
Those dishes always came with the information to test the spicy component separately. We loved it!
Great experience, thanks a lot!
The only open question in our mind was: how can this place have only 1*? The Level of just everything would easily justify 2* or even 3*.
An excellent fusion of cuisines with rich, refined dishes.
Each plate is crafted to perfection and offers a unique experience.
Service is impeccable — you’re treated like royalty from start to finish.
The location is fantastic, and taking the lift up to the restaurant already feels special and sets the mood for the evening.
As we usually do, we chose the tasting menu. The dishes arrived quickly, were beautifully presented, and offered great, well-balanced flavors throughout. Everything was executed at a very high level.
A special mention goes to our waitress, a young Brazilian lady, who was absolutely wonderful — fun, professional, and attentive, adding a lot to the overall experience.
If there is one very small thing to mention (really complaining on a high level), the dishes came a bit fast, and I would have loved a little more time to enjoy my wine between courses. That said, this didn’t take away from the experience at all.
Overall, an excellent fine dining experience in a unique setting. We truly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.
Our table was serviced at one time or another by 8 staff persons. Each one was knowledgeable in what was being served, how the food was prepared and in what order we should eat the various offerings in each course.
We chose the 11 course tasting menu, there are also 12 and 14 course options.
Each course is an appropriate portion, perfect for the taste and what the chef wanted to convey yet not so much food that you were too full to enjoy the desert.
The preparation and presentation each course was outstanding.
Our 11 course meal for two people with a moderate priced bottle of wine totaled about $560 euro. This level of meal and service would have been double the price in a big city in the U S. We definitely felt we received a great deal of value for what we paid.
If you are in Lisbon and want a special night, I would not miss the opportunity to make a reservation and enjoy 50 Seconds (how long it takes the elevator to reach to restaurant). We also booked a room at the attached Myriad Hotel. The Hotel is also a very nice experience. Jim Schrader
