Fifth Vessel Coffee is such a quaint little gem! Their menu is refreshingly different, with creative twists on classic coffee and tea options. The pastries are fresh-baked and delicious, and they also serve hot sandwiches that are just as tasty and comforting. The vibe is cool and relaxed, and the staff are always so kind and approachable — you can really feel the welcoming atmosphere.

I’ve visited throughout the year, and my go-to hot drink is the Texas Blossom — a lovely blend infused with honey and cardamom. For iced coffee, I absolutely love the Bonito, made with your choice of milk, cinnamon, and vanilla. Both are perfection in a cup!

If you’re looking for a cozy spot with great coffee, unique flavors, and friendly people — this is it.

Decent coffee but not very hot. The blueberry scones were really good I would skip the croissant sandwich next time as the ham needed to be heated up so wasn’t great.

I live a few blocks from Fifth Vessel and always enjoy coming here. I only order their Matcha selections, but I’m sure their other drink options are good too.Their pastries and food are okay and worth trying to see if you personally like it. While it has a cute atmosphere, when it gets busy, you can feel it.Wish there was an additional way to order (QR code at your table, order ahead, etc) to reduce the line or crowding.

Love the super colorful outside of the store! The peach matcha latte was delicious! Don’t get me started on the banana chocolate chip muffin simply out of this world , get it warmed up ! Very cute little place with a decent amount of seating.

This place is an instant pick-me-up from the moment you hear their music playing outside in the street. Good tunes, kind service, great coffee, and yummy food — there’s no other coffee shop in Houston I’d rather go to.
You can tell that these baristas handle your drinks with great love and care, and they’re always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you leave happy. Something else I admire is how everything is made in house from their roasted coffee beans, to their drinks’ syrups, and baked goods. This place is definitely worth a try.
My top recommendations for anyone going for the first time are:
Coffee — Flat White/Cappuccino, Bonito, Yuzu Espresso Tonic, or any of their V60 pour overs
Matcha — Honey Matcha, Kaede, or the Momo
Food — Tuna Melt, Mushroom Garlic Toast, and Chipotle Brekkie Sandwich
Pastries — Banana Nut Loaf, Coffee Cake, and Blueberry Scone

I’ve never been more disappointed by a matcha latte.
I have come back here twice while cafe hopping and have tried almost all of the matcha lattes on their menu. I’m not sure what’s going on, but for some reason, I can barely taste the matcha or flavoring in the drinks. It tastes like milk and nothing more, which is incredibly disappointing as the drinks can be very expensive (paid $12 for a strawberry matcha latte with oat milk). The rave is what brought me back the second time, thinking, “Maybe they weren’t feeling their best the first time” but was faced with the same dilemma as before.
I’m sure the other drinks on their menu are good, but their matcha latte wasn’t worth the price.

Fantastic coffee shop! Came here twice during my 3-day stay. The iced bonito is wonderful, and the jalapeño/bacon/goat cheese scone genuinely blew my mind.

Overhyped, imo. Started seeing lots of TikTok’s saying this place has the best matcha in Houston and decided to check it out while in the area. The cashier wasn’t really friendly and kind of rushed us to order. The drinks came out looking better than they actually tasted and I’m still laughing at the fact that I paid $2 extra per drink for oat milk in subpar drinks. Cute vibe though!

Excellent espresso and selection of nice coffees on pour over. I had a Loquat and Stereoscope hand brew – really neat to see they carried Stereoscopes stuff. Definitely check this place out if you lean into black coffee and espresso (I cannot speak to their milky drinks). And don’t sleep on the PBJ. Really good folks behind the counter that do coffee very well.

Nestles on the outskirt of the northern part of downtown and across from the University is this cute and cozy coffee shop with a welcoming environment. They have a unique roast which is a bit strong for me but if you like an espresso with a punch, then you will love this place. Customer service was top notch and their pastries are delicious and divine and baked in house. I would come back and try their decaf espresso or ask for a half a shot of espresso and try some more pastries. Also, there is only street parking which is $2 an hour but if you happen to be visiting downtown Houston just hop the train and come on over for a visit.
