Reviews
Customer service is also a notable mention. Very friendly. Service is quick and prompt. I normally order dinner to go, and is typically done prior to quote time, pending how busy they are.
BREAKFAST
Their breakfast menu has a variety of traditional items like pancakes, waffels, etc. their breakfast burritos are pretty good with your choice of meat and vegetables. Of course, you can add for a small fee.
Biscuits and Gravy was good. A little light on gravy, but can be corrected if you ask ahead of time. I prefer mine with eggs on top.
Price:
50%-100% more than most Mexican joints. It cost us $78 for 2 adults and 2 kids for what would’ve cost $40-$50 anywhere else. Not to mention they nickle and dime you. What kind of Mexican restaurant only gives you *one* basket of chips and salsa for free? Then you order queso and…it DOESN’T EVEN COME WITH ANOTHER BASKET OF CHIPS?! Absolutely ridiculous.
Taste:
Pure disappointment. The salsa was very mild. The queso was lukewarm (thus thick) and the most bland that I’ve *ever* had. I honestly think they literally put no seasoning in it at all. The premade junk at the grocery store has more flavor. Bland was a common theme. Only part of the burrito that had flavor was the carpet of raw cilantro and onion on top, definitely not from the sauce or meat. Even the rice was tasteless. How do you even manage to have bland red rice?? Not to mention it was overcooked and mushy. It’s bad when the generic [surely frozen] kid’s meal corn dog was the most flavorful part of the meal.
Quality:
I’ve already went over taste so I really just made this category to highlight the fact that my spouse’s chimichanga was literally half empty. I want to be perfectly clear, I am not exaggerating.
Service:
They got the order right, so had that going for us I guess. Took a while to get our food after ordering despite being there only being maybe 1 or 2 other tables. Food finally arrived while I was in the bathroom so I didn’t get the chance to directly ask for my drink to be refilled, but it was clearly empty and on the edge of the table. Certainly can’t say our waiter took a proactive approach: didn’t even get the chance to flag them down for another 15min or so. Next time we saw them was at the end of our meal.
Atmosphere:
The decor was… fine. Nothing overly offensive to your sensibilities but certainly nothing impressive. The seats at the table we were sat were old and cracked. One had an uncomfortable split on one side.
TLDR:
I don’t know how the other “authentic” Mexican restaurants around here are, but you’d be better off going to any generic chain “Mexican” restaurant. It’ll taste better while saving you time and money.
The food was deliciously fresh and had the authentic Mexican presentation and flavor.
We live an hour away and will definitely put this on our list to re visit. The owner came by our table to chat with us and ensure we were satisfied with the entire dining experience.
BC should be proud to have this in their town.
Food is great! Every meal hits with consistency each time you come back. It’s by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Staff is legit and food is fabulous. – Tropical Burrito, Quesabirria Tacos & Enchiladas Verdes are great!
