A great dining experience! The food, the atmosphere, and the service were all top-notch.
I ordered the salmon, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. With a flaky, moist, and incredibly flavorful. The sweet, buttery corn on top of a quesadilla it came with was a fantastic pairing. The only slight misstep was the chocolate salsa, it definitely threw off the flavor and balance of the dish a little bit. Overall dish was still truly great!
My husband had the filet, and I can confidently say it’s up there with some of the best filets in the entire area. Tender, perfectly seared, and seasoned beautifully.
To top it all off, the dirty martini I ordered was hands down the best I have ever had. Perfectly chilled, the right amount of brine, and just fantastic.
Fielding is clearly operating at a very high level. Highly, highly recommend!

Very disappointing my girlfriend and I went for dinner made a reservation for 6:15. We arrived the restaurant was not busy, we stood at the hostess stand for approximately 5 minutes. We were seated at our table and noticed the menu has changed from before but okay let’s try it. Disappointing about their cocktail selection. We put in a drink order only myself order a cocktail it took again over 5 minutes for my drink restaurant still not real busy. The server was pleasant we did have either a draft or air vent blowing on us and asked a gentleman who looked like a mgr. we asked him to check it he can back and said he did but still we had the issue. My friend has a seafood allergy and stated that to the server she made sure we were told about certain dishes to avoid. My friend order a burger no fries and asked if she could substitute for a salad the server said only a Caesar and with having a seafood allergy my friend passed. Our server stopped back and said the kitchen could make her a side salad with ranch dressing great. Our meals came she was given her salad which looked like Caesar but my friend new the server was aware of her allergy. She took a bite and then questioned the salad our server came over and was concerned and immediately went to the kitchen to check the mgr stopped by we told him about the issue he wasn’t overly concerned and the server came back and said it was the Cesar salad mix but they put ranch on instead of Cesar dressing ??. Our server was very apologetic but you would think when the mgr found out he would be a little more concerned. Our bill was 70 + tip for 1 pizza a burger no side 1 cocktail I feel like this place has gone down hill since previous visits. I question if I will go back very disappointed when trying to having a nice dinner with a friend on a Thursday night.

This place is amazing. Came here in a large group which changed the vibe but did not change the service or quality of this place.

Fieldings Local is a self-described “eco-friendly” restaurant and bar that locally sources sustainable foods and materials. The founder was previously associated with Hubbel & Hudson, and the menu and feel might remind you of The Kitchen or Black Walnut. I’ve eaten at Fieldings (non-local) before and had good experiences, so my expectations for brunch were high. My experience was putting frozen butter on burnt toast with a steak knife; everything was just a bit off, including the service. My wife had a better experience with her food, although the waiter forgot her drink until after we finished the meal. You can probably get a good meal here, and the environment, except the dirty women’s restroom, is casual but upscale. Still, I must rate it on my experience; I often get a classic brunch, eggs, bacon, bread, and potatoes or grits. This meal is a good measure of a restaurant; something’s wrong if you can’t do that well. Sadly, the eggs and potatoes were cold, the bacon was over-salted, and the toast was burned. Surprisingly, the coffee is charged by the cup ($4.25ea) with no refills; I can’t remember the last time I paid by the cup. On the bright side, the Lemon Pancake, croissant, and Spicy Avocado Scramble were good (or so my wife says).
The service fits right in with the food — it could be better. Our waiter was friendly enough but seemed distracted. You shouldn’t have to ask for butter or jelly for your burned toast, coffee refills, or if a cocktail is coming. Again, I could go on, but you get the idea.
The atmosphere is pleasant; it’s a modern but casual environment with lots of light, concrete, wood, and fake flowers. It’s inviting and comfortable. There’s outdoor seating available overlooking the green, which I imagine gets busy on cool fall days. As with the food, you can tell a lot by a restaurant based on how they keep their bathroom. The men’s bathroom was clean enough, but the women’s bathroom needed to be cleaner, with paper towels everywhere, a stall out of order, and a dirty high chair in front of it.
I was pretty disappointed in what should have been a fabulous brunch; I might have had a better experience somewhere far cheaper. Still, I’m inclined to chalk this up to an off day or something else going on and try it again, maybe…

I was very excited to try this upper end restaurant after reading the reviews. I booked my reservation one month in advance knowing that it was Christmas Day. After arriving at 6:00, we were seated immediately. We were greeted by a very courteous waiter. We ordered three appetizers and he encouraged us to go ahead and place our entree orders as well. We waited over an hour before we asked about our appetizers. He said he didn’t know what was happening. At an hour and 20 minutes, we decided to leave. I spoke with the owner, his response was sorry about that. We were really put in a bind to find a restaurant that late on Christmas Day. It was a total let down for this reserved tauted restaurant. Fieldings, do better!

There was nothing wrong with my $22 burger and fries but also nothing great about them. My husband thought his brie burger had a wierd barbecue sauce taste. The Apple Cake was delicious. We had to ask for ice in our water that was in tiny cups. We both ran out while eating. Service was rather slow. The view out the window was pretty but the inside was just a bar with tables around it and loud music.

Our experience at Fielding’s last night was unfortunately far from pleasant. We’ve dined there many times over the past five years, but this was the second visit in just over a month where we left extremely disappointed. What was meant to be a quick family dinner after our son’s music program turned into an almost three-hour ordeal.
The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, nor did it appear short-staffed, yet our service was unusually slow. Our waitress disappeared for long stretches, and our entrees took nearly 90 minutes to arrive. When they finally did, we were told the delay was due to an item “being left in the window.” We also had to repeatedly ask for water and iced tea refills. We arrived at 6:09 p.m. and didn’t leave until nearly 9 p.m., despite only ordering an appetizer and entrees.
My parents wanted dessert and coffee, but we decided against it, worried the restaurant might close before they arrived. The manager stopped by but did not acknowledge or apologize for the excessive wait, and our server offered little explanation as we watched multiple tables around us sit, eat, and leave well before our meals were served.
The food itself was just average — certainly not reflective of the nearly $300 bill. Unfortunately, this experience feels like part of a growing pattern of declining service and quality. Were it not for Fielding’s prime location at Creekside Green, I believe higher standards would be necessary to maintain loyal customers.
