We were seated right away on a Saturday afternoon.
It’s conveniently located next to the river walk and shops. It’s a good place to eat.
The food came out extremely fast, which was a pleasant surprise. I started with the fried crab claws and they were delicious — perfectly fried with a good amount of meat and a dipping sauce that paired so well. For my entrée, I ordered the Salmon BLT, and it was cooked perfectly. The salmon had just the right amount of crisp and seasoning, and the fries on the side were just as enjoyable.
Between the service, the speed, and the quality of the food, this spot definitely left a great impression.
Hunter is one of coolest people I met, and he made my last night in Savanna so memorable. I got some dozen Oysters and he let me know his favorites, Oysters were freaking GOOD. Shoutout to whoever is shuckin them things! Also, the owner was a delight and greeted me when I first walked in, and then let me know Hunter would be taken care of me. The restaurant is so home feeling and there is an upstairs but honestly I was having such a chill time I didn’t get to check it out! But I heard it’s just as cool and vibey as the downstairs. A divine time I had! I think I spent a little over 2 hours there just killing time by myself. Thank you Fiddlers crew for the vibey songs and delish freakin oysters, and not to mention the fabulous hospitality I received. I’ll be back!
Our server, Amilee, was kind and attentive. Kept us updated on the status of our food and kept the waters coming.
The problem with my wife’s order was the way the shrimp were prepared, or lack of preparation is more like it. They arrived, breaded and fried. Unfortunately, they weren’t deveined and the shell was left on varying degrees. Instead of getting meat all the way to the tail, she was eating the shell because you couldn’t see it under the breading…definitely unacceptable. We let Amilee know and she brought my wife 6 fresh shrimp…same problem. Amilee said the kitchen mgr was on her way out because she quote, “Didn’t believe me”. After a considerable wait, Brooke arrived but after our explanation (and we prefaced our conversation with, “We don’t expect a free meal”) she neither apologized and also had the nerve to counter with 3 reasons of her own in regards to why the shrimp were prepared the way they were.
Well, if that’s the way they prepare their fried shrimp and then have an attitude because we had a problem with it, then we definitely won’t come back. In the end I did ask her to comp my wife’s meal solely for her attitude and, as you can see in the photo, we left all her shrimp behind.
