Fiaschetteria Pistoia – Review – East Village – New York

Fiaschetteria Pistoia is an East Village restaurant from some Italians who have another restaurant in Tuscany. It’s all about the handmade pasta.

Theeeeeee Best Italian I’ve enjoyed in a REALLY Long time!! Omg I was blown away by the flavor of this pasta … everything thing is fresh and authentic!! We ordered the Pappardelle AL Ragu and the Tagliatelle AL Tartufo (which was my absolute FAVORITE) …. I eat A LOT of Italian and the Tartufo definitely ranks in my top 3 favorite dishes I’ve had … the flavor is so unique and abundant with richness…. Definitely am paying this restaurant a visit the next time I’m in NYC !! Can’t wait to come back !!

Having tried their Amsterdam location years ago, I made it a small personal quest to visit every Fiaschetteria I could. This became my first dinner in New York, and I’m grateful it was.
Born in Tuscany in 1890, the restaurant carries its history so easily that you feel it before you read about it — the warmth, the care, the sense of a family that has cooked the same dishes with the same devotion for generations.
The East Village location captured that spirit perfectly. The food was honest and deeply satisfying, the kind you remember because it tastes the way tradition should. A beautiful introduction to the city, and one I’ll return to.

What a quirky restaurant. Visited this spot for a late Saturday night dinner and it was chaotic to say the least. Lots of waiters running around providing a great service, as well as cleaning up for the day and in the small nook of a space it was mildly disruptive. Nonetheless, I really did enjoy the food and drink and would recommend it perhaps earlier in the day. As soon as we sat down a waiter dropped off the iconic wine caddy, and of course we picked a random bottle off of vibes. The complimentary bread was warm and fresh. The Carpaccio di Polpo on the specials was light and lemony. For pasta, the Tagliatelle al Tartufo was some of the best I’ve had in nyc. And the Maccheroni Sull’antra did not disappoint. In general, the guests truly seemed like they were enjoying themselves and can confirm I left feeling full and satisfied.

Great Tuscan restaurant in the East Village. We managed to get seated despite not having a reservation. Reservation is highly recommended as it does get busier later in the evening. We tried the prosciutto, tortellini with sauce, and pappardelle with pesto sauce. The presentation was great, nice big bowl plates. Food was only slightly salty but overall amazing taste. Really cozy, vintage, atmosphere. Servers were very attentive and friendly in white dress jackets.

Giving a 5 star review in NYC for an Italian eatery is a bit bold – but no need to feel like I’m stepping out on an edge: this place is exceptional. In . Every. Single. regard. The entire staff is superb, attentive and friendly. Even with the restaurant completely full we felt like we were the center of attention. THE Food – well – I felt like I was dining in Italy – the freshness and the quality was above reproach. Federico and all his colleagues should be proud. Our number one spot in NYC!

Absolutely an amazing experience at this restaurant. From the sweet and attentive staff to the to die for food- 10/10! If you are looking for an Italian restaurant while in NYC this is the place to come to. We had the truffle pasta, bolognese, two glasses of wine, & a tiramisu to end the night. All of the food was the best Italian I have ever had.

Great little spot, main course was a winner!

Started with the crostini, wasn’t bad, but nothing exceptional.

Makn course: the Tagliatelle al Tartufo was perhaps one of the best (if not the best) pastas I’ve ever had! Would def go back for more!!

For dessert, we only tried their version of the affogato, that unfortunately was a miss 🙁
