6.75/10 T-Bone Steak

Steak is alright but not buying it again. It felt a bit plain as they didn’t have a proper Steak sauce, so you only could use barbecue, ketchup, or hot sauce of which none of them helped. Ordered medium rare and it came out mostly fully cooked.

Great service
Great atmosphere
Great food! I love the grilled meat! However, a lot of the time the steaks are mostly FAT… Don’t be fooled by the first visit. They will give you the idea you will receive great pieces of meat. By giving you a nice piece but I have remained loyal and continued paying for FAT!!!

Top of my list for best Portuguese BBQ!! This is coming from a Portuguese person. Pricing is on par for the large portions and delicious flavor!! You truly cannot leave this place hungry. The chicken and spare ribs combo hit every time!! Staff is very friendly. No frills, all flavor! Can get very busy.

Ferry Street Barbecue is a hidden gem in Newark. The food is flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked—especially the ribs and grilled chicken. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick even during busy hours. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, the experience is consistently satisfying. A must-visit spot if you’re craving quality barbecue in the Ironbound area.

The food was excellent—especially the ribs and the chicken with French fries—and the prices were fair. Unfortunately, the service was not good. We had to wait too long, even for our sodas, and we had to call the waiter several times. It felt like they might have been short-staffed. I’d go back for the food, but I really hope the service improves.

Parents went out to buy food from here and when we started to dig in we saw how small the portions are. Not only that the rice was bland. 40 dollars down the drain

The restaurant itself is not much to look at, but it is well laid-out, and the spectacle of the kitchen in the main area keeps you entertained while you wait to be seated. As for the food, the portions are epic, and the flavors are fabulous. The service sometimes seems overwhelmed by the bustle but in fact never ignores you. The restaurant does not serve alcohol but is BYOB, and you can find amazing wines at the Portuguese wine store half a block down the street on the opposite side.

If you like Brazilian BBQ style I would recommend. This place has amazing flavor. The grilled bbq chicken it’s my favorite. It’s bbq chicken is so moist and juicy very flavorful. You can get side like salad, rice, and fries it’s proximately Hispanic and Portuguese people. They serve anyone especially if you love to eat! So no worries go and enjoy if your in the area!

I called in an order for fried pork cubes only, not fried hard. He said okay. I come down there and pick up my order it got olives carrots and shrimps, and etc. I called to let them know that this what I asked and that I’m allergic to peppers. He offered no solution. I will not be back.

Got the $30 T-Bone steak meal. The steak (about 1 lb) was one of the best I’ve had- done exactly as ordered (medium rare); tender and well seasoned. Comes with high portions of fries and seasoned rice. Had the soup which the server said was “vegetarian”. It was a yellow split pea soup with cabbage, carrots and noodle. It was average at best. Atmosphere was casual. Note: menu on their website is out-of-date for prices.
