No frills and hits the spot. A safe option is to order their chicken (orange, general tso, sesame) if you’re not sure what to get. Take a look at the reviews for photos of other things you might like as you may end up disappointed if you take a chance on something you aren’t sure of.

I had an unfortunate experience here. While eating my Singapore noodles, I discovered a roach in the dish. It was incredibly shocking and completely ruined my meal.

I didn’t mention it to the staff but have filed a complaint with the health department, but this kind of incident raises serious concerns about cleanliness and food safety. I hope the restaurant takes steps to improve its hygiene practices, as this is unacceptable for any dining establishment.

I can’t see myself returning and wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience.

Feng’s Garden has reliably delicious food with a short wait and reasonable price. I would especially recommend the chicken.

Feng’s Garden is a staple for take-out Chinese food in Forest Hills. It’s not the worst and it’s not the best, nor is it trying to be either. It’s good value comfort Chinese food for that weekday you’re too lazy to buss the chops.
Special mention: Orange Chicken combination platter… my fav!

The Shrimp with Broccoli was good. I ordered takeout which comes with the ready to open tray. Out of courtesy, especially since the food didn’t come in the paper containers, the lady or cashier should have asked if I needed utensils, condiments &/or napkins. Instead of her handing me the bag, then quickly walking away to the back. I asked one of the cooks as he was going to take a break, & he gladly turned around & gave me the fork, napkins & a fortune cookie.

Best Chinese takeout in Forest Hills! Consistently good food; great wonton soup; my favorite is chow fun noodles. Primarily for takeout; 2 or 3 booths in premises; absolutely not fancy.
Update May 2025: take notice of the NYC Health Dept letter A in the window. This restaurant has always been A. Several restaurants in Forest Hills have lower grades and violations.

I ordered shrimp and broccoli and they gave me chicken. Poor service. Should have opened stapled bag, by the time i got home they were closed. Buyer beware. You would think they would offer me a replacement next day? Ha.

CHECK YOUR CHANGE!!!! I have been here at least 30-40 times over the past 2 years. I don’t get upset often when buying food, but this is very consistent and I have to let other customers know.

(First mistake), They got the order wrong. I ordered items with sauce on the side, and the chef said ok, told the lady at the counter that its the wrong order, and she said “he mixed it, so!”

(Second mistake) walked away and realized that she gave me the wrong change. Went back and confronted the lady that she gave me the wrong change, she pretended and gave me a partial of the missing change (keeping the rest of the change). The worker basically pocketed people’s change. It’s not about the amount of money, but having dishonest people like that ruins your business.
I wouldn’t mind giving that as a tip, but you
– Got the order wrong, don’t care about it
– Steal customers change

I even saw another customer get taken advantage of as well, they charge her for a large size of the item when she got a small instead.

AVOID this place at all costs, I will never comeback to this place again. There are at least 3 other Chinese takeouts nearby.
