Pasta is soo good! I got the gnocchi burrata and it was to die for! It came with tonnnns of burrata too! And a good heavy portion size. I had leftovers. We got free bread and a refill and loved the olive oil! It was really high quality flavor. My friend also loved her linguini clam. We were seated right away and served quickly!

The only thing I want to call out to the business is the lighting …. It is so so bright inside. We came at night and the place was lit up like a summers day. Why? It was super unwelcoming and almost awkward. It felt like I was in a doctors office literally. A very cool bright light. I suggest dimming them and toning down the lighting to give a warm cozy ambiance.

Delicious Italian food. Reservation preferred. Google maps reservation service did not work. I called restaurant 30 min before opening. They picked up and my table was ready for me for dinner. The place looks nice. It is a bit on the pricey side but for that location that might be fine. Bring your own vine! Parking available.

Ordered the Veal Piccata — it was absolutely disgusting and one of the worst meals I’ve had in a while. The meat was gray, slimy, and tasted rancid. It looked and tasted as if it had been boiled in water, with zero sear or texture. When I sent it back, the manager came over and immediately got defensive, insisting he’d been cooking the dish for 20 years. He didn’t even bother to look at the plate before dismissing my concern and saying, “That’s how it’s done.”

An embarrassing excuse for a piccata. 1/10 for service — the manager was rude and didn’t even comp the dish — and 0/10 for the food

Never coming back or recommending this spot.

If you haven’t been to this location, you are truly missing out! Fellini Newtown Square (formerly called Fellini Cafe) is my all-time favorite Italian restaurant! They’re a family-owned business that takes great pride in their food and providing exceptional service.

I’ve been dining here for 20 years, but unfortunately, I moved to NC in 2013, so the opportunities to get back have grown few and far between. My brother and I were in the area last December, and they had just completed a renovation of the entire place—so cool to see after it being so long since we visited. The food was exactly as we remembered: fresh, delicious, and high quality!

The dressing on their salad is something I’ve tried to duplicate at home, but it just never hits the mark—so, I’m convinced they’re using magic. 🙂 Fresh bread? It’s like NOTHING in NC—unfortunately for me, I’m not kidding.

Anyway, they offer a very robust menu with many Italian classics and their own specialties. They’ve never turned down modifications on dishes—literally, I’ve never had anything bad here. My mom ordered eggplant parm one time, and I don’t even like eggplant—but I liked this one. Calamari, salad, soup, pastas, pizza, desserts… they have something for everyone.

Almost forgot—they’re also BYOB, so bring your favorite bottle for everyone in your party and enjoy! The venue is small and may have slightly more seating capacity after their renovation, but we almost always made reservations before moving—whether it be lunch or dinner. They also accept large party reservations with advance notice.

Their parking is very limited, with more signs than ever dictating “customer parking only” for various businesses. If you’re going during peak hours, be prepared to wait for a spot in the front lot. You can also buy alcohol past the bank and Verizon store at Newtown Suds (to stash in your trunk) and then walk down, or park across the (small) highway in the ACME shopping center for free.

In summation… just gather your favorite people, bring some wine, and enjoy this spot!

I recently had the pleasure having lunch at Fellini Cafe in Newtown Square and it was truly a memorable experience. The Grilled Artichokes were a standout dish, with the Roman artichokes perfectly grilled and paired with fresh mozzarella, green olives, sliced prosciutto, shredded parmesan, and a drizzle of truffle oil. Each bite was bursting with flavor and the combination of ingredients was simply divine.

The Fried Calamari was also a hit, with the fresh squid lightly battered and fried to perfection. The marinara sauce served alongside added a nice tangy kick to the dish.

For the main course, I tried the Involtini Fellini, a unique dish featuring veal, spinach, blue cheese, and cream. The flavors worked harmoniously together and the veal was incredibly tender.

Lastly, the Penne alla Vodka with shrimp was a comforting and indulgent choice. The tomato cream sauce reduced in vodka added a rich and creamy element to the dish, and the shrimp were cooked to perfection.

Overall, my dining experience at Fellini Cafe was exceptional. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, the service by Patricio was top-notch, and the food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic Italian dining experience in Newtown Square.

My family and I ate here on Christmas Eve and really enjoyed it! I’d definitely recommend making a reservation to guarantee seating. It was super busy, but the food was still delicious! The sleek interior that they recently remodeled looks great. The ONLY downside (which is of nobody’s fault) is that there is very limited space inside. It didn’t bother us, but if you’re someone who needs a lot of space, just keep that in mind!

Our new neighborhood and we decided to explore new dining spots. Made a reservation for Saturday evening — they were busy but we got an 8:00 spot. Restaurant was full — lively crowd all enjoying the food. We were seated promptly. Greeted warmly and were welcomed to the neighborhood! Server was fantastic – explained all the dishes we questioned. Two bronzino dishes (which came with some clams and mussels), one veal dish and one large artichoke salad. Everything was fantastic. We ended with two orders of some of the best cannolis ever (we left the gun and took the cannolis). The portions were more than generous – means we have lunch for next day! We will definitely be back – and often.
