This place used to be good but fell off the cliff with terrible service and the quality. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich to get everything separate in containers. Empty bun,meat in another container no slaw either just bread sauce and a little bit of meat. Felix was there and he had every excuse and still got the order wrong. Sorry this place is going downhill quickly. Check out the Chicken place on the other side of the building. More friendly there.

Since moving to California I’ve struggled to find good BBQ. Felix is now a staple. Not only is the food excellent and the staff friendly, but the lunch menu is a fantastic value. I highly recommend the baby back ribs!

We ordered the baby back rib dinner with sauce on the side so that we could try it with and without sauce. Amazing! Fall off the bone tender, smoky flavor. We also love the St. Louis ribs. The corn muffins are the best as our the sides (my wife likes the baked beans and candied yams). Highly recommended. We discovered and love the Oceanside location but Carlsbad is so close for us and it is wonderful (did I mention the gumbo and shrimp and grits!). SO good!! Give a try!!

We had food delivered and Felix’s kept us updated as to delivery time. Food was delicious, as usual. Beef ribs were tender and catfish was perfectly fried. Fried okra good but was a little too soft from being put in the container hot with no venting, so that it was steamy. All sides were very good. Excellent food.

I ordered the full rack of BBQ spare ribs. It came with two sides so I got macaroni and cheese, and southern style baked beans with bacon and cornbread. Pictures of menu and dishes provided. Overall spent 39$.
The ribs – Extremely tender. Fall off the bone. But the flavor isn’t there really. You need extra BBQ sauce to really get much of anything from it. Overall disappointing.
Macaroni and cheese – Very curdled/grainy. Strong cheese flavor but the grainy texture was a bit much.
Beans with bacon – Literally no bacon in it whatsoever. Sweet pleasant flavor. Probably the best of the things I ordered.
Cornbread – It was corn bread. Not the best ever. But it was not bad.
Overall I rate this visit 7/10. Very beautiful food. Very tender. Flavor was disappointing. Beans didn’t have bacon. Mac n cheese was grainy and just OK. More than likely won’t come again.

Not a good sign when the sides are mediocre and they’re the best part of the meal. Ordered a whole rack of beef back ribs that barely had any meat on them and were the opposite of tender. One and done at this spot.

This place is terrific! I don’t eat out often, but when I do Felix’s is always at the top of my list. Everything on the menu is delicious, everything. Last night we had a quarter chicken, quarter ribs, a side of braised cabbage, and a side of fried green tomatoes (these are our go to sides) It was enough to feed three people, maybe even four. It was piping hot when we picked it up and so yummy. The chicken and ribs fell right off the bone and were so tasty.The cabbage is always very good, but I am particularly in love with their fried green tomatoes. I cannot get enough of them. They are perfectly breaded and cooked and so tart when you bite into them. And that dipping sauce they give you for them makes them even better. And you always get a nice corn muffin or two with your order and they are worthy; soft, but not mushy, with just enough sweetness to complement the rest of the meal. Order from Felix’s! I promise you will not be disappointed.

I love Felix’s but I wouldn’t recommend this location only because of my scheduled pick up order. Everything by was cold including my gumbo. There were hard pieces of okra that I couldn’t eat and it tasted like old gumbo not fresh. The brisket was super dry and cold as well. I enjoyed the cornbread and collard greens the best. Unfortunately, the food isn’t cheap so i was disappointed. I’ll stick with the San Marcos location from now on.

The food was very good! My favorites were the baby back ribs, mashed potatoes and gravy and the fries! I definitely recommend it! I wish I would have ordered more mashed potatoes

Food is tasty, especially the fried chicken and collard greens. Hoppin Johns and bonus cornbread muffins. We ordered online, very easy, and set a pick up time. It was ready on time. Only complaint is standing by cash register with no reception. Hard to know if anyone was coming. Got chastised for going in the back searching for an employee. There is a camera apparently but who knew? Did not dine in so can’t tell you how atmosphere was. It is more of a production kitchen, very little seating. Go to Oceanside for ambiance. Good food though. That’s all that matters.
