Feist Creek Restaurant in Northern Idaho is an absolute hidden gem! From the moment you arrive, the rustic charm and welcoming atmosphere make you feel right at home. Nestled in a serene forest setting, the highlight outside is the picturesque rainbow and gold trout pond, the waterfall off the back deck, and te surrounding forest makes it perfect for a peaceful stroll or just soaking in the beauty of nature. Inside, the cozy cabin vibe continues with warm wood décor and friendly, down-to-earth service that makes every guest feel like family. The food is fantastic—hearty, flavorful, and clearly made with love. Whether you’re enjoying a perfectly cooked steak or fresh salad, every bite is a delight. This restaurant is a beautiful spot in the middle of the woods with a home like charm to it.
We thoroughly loved our time there, and the waitress check up on us regularly. I swear we went through at least ten cups, but each time she came back with a smile on her face.
The food faltered in my expectation. We got their coconut shrimp. I would totally do that again. They had to change out the steak for a smaller one and they didn’t have the huckleberry cheesecake bragged up on the menu. (Again, the staff did the best that could and brought huckleberry Sundays instead, which were delicious.)
When we went, night had descended and it was cold, but we had to go check out the waterfall anyway. During the summer it would have made the perfect night time stroll.
Totally recommend for a good place to vacation alone, but not too alone.

This is our new favorite place! The atmosphere was cozy and our server/ chef Gwen was friendly and personable. The food was amazing and so was the waterfall out back. After we ate I fed the huge trout in the pond out front. We will definitely be back ❤️

Cliff is always an awesome bartender,we’ve been coming here for years. and Julie is funny and witty. hubby loved the garlic salmon. he orders 2 portions cause they are kinda small. all the appetizers are delicious. the atmosphere is great, and no one is a stranger. We ended up here as our first choice had stopped serving food at 3 pm. We had been working all day in the yard. I remembered hearing about this place so we decided to give it a try. We are very glad we did. Prices are very reasonable. Food was great (I had the prime rib sandwich my husband had the bacon cheeseburger), love the French fries! The view was amazing! We will be back. They have a soup and salad bar that I am very interested in- looked very good.

This is a really fun spot to relax while touring North Idaho. Very close to Copper Falls. The staff are friendly and responsive. The food is well prepared and appropriately priced. Looking over the trout pond and further away the Moyie River adds a fun ambiance. The outside deck is pet friendly. We have gone back to the area just to go to the restaurant.

My teenage boys were a part of a backpacking group that started their journey on the Pacific Northwest Trail in Western Montana and ended their journey in North Idaho at Feist Creek Restaurant. This was during a hot time of the year and the whole group had blisters, were short on water…and were just plain worn out. They had dinner at Feist Creek Restaurant and then stayed on the lawn there for the night waiting to be picked up the next morning. They LOVED their dinner, my eldest raved about the catfish and hushpuppies, my youngest son LOVED his huckleberry sundae. But here’s the best part: the restaurant opened early on Sunday morning to feed this whole group breakfast on the house. Who does this??? I’ll tell you who: people who care about going above and beyond in the customer service arena and want repeat business and rave reviews. I spend time up the Moyie flyfishing and camping – you can bet I’ll drive out of my way to give this place my business and I’ll encourage all my friends and family to do the same. Feist Creek…if you read reviews, know that I think you are amazing! Thanks for treating our boys with warmth and kindness and refreshing their bodies and souls – what an example to a group of young people living in a world that “looks out for number one.” Blessings to you all!!!
