Made a Pit stop at Feges BBQ
Wasn’t aware BBQ restaurant was located in a business park food court
BBQ was ok
Brisket lean liked
Turkey very moist liked
Sausage didn’t care for
Chicken Too much seasoning little dry
Pozole Verde soup very good
Brussels sprouts good but little salty
Going to visit other location on long point soon
Plate includes 2 meats, 2 sides a dessert and a fountain drink!!
The BBQ is outstanding. I’m presently stuck on brisket and smoked turkey. I’m gonna have to work my way through the other items on the menu in the near future. Don’t sleep on the sides. Some of the best around. The baked potato salad is money.
Their house made pickles are better than anything out of a jar.
Thank you FEGES for your great work and great food
— Brisket – I love the point end of the brisket, so went with some slices of fatty. And I tell ya, that brisket was stunning, It was very moist, lucious, and melt-in-your-mouth, with a great bark and fantastic flavor.
— Pork ribs – The pork ribs were a St. Louis cut, with an outstanding bark, a great chewy exterior, and the meat was moist and flavorful.
— Sausage – The sausage was exceptional. It had a firmly-packed filling with a reasonably-fine grind and great flavor. And it was smoked beautifully, with a good snap to the casing and not too chewy or shriveled up.
What I wasn’t prepared for was both the variety and deliciousness of their sides. There were too many to choose from. I ultimately decided on Erin’s Moroccan spiced carrots and the elote corn salad. Both were fantastic. Given that they are in a commercial building food court, they also offer other choices – like kale salad or BBQ chef salad for lunch. The housemade pickles and pickled red onions and their two different kinds of barbecue sauce were very nice complements to the amazing meat.
I wish I would have had room for dessert. I’ve heard great things about them as well – especially the banana+caramel cream pie. The truth is, I am going to have go back again (and again) to try the food that I didn’t get to try this time around. If only Greenway Plaza were a shorter drive… Oh well.
If you get here before the lunch hour (10 to noon) there is no wait time and plenty of tables.
We got the brisket, pork ribs and against my partners suggestion of no sides, we had mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Sides were tasty but never needed to be a part of a bbq tour Houston -hah! Now o agree, sides are unnecessary
Brisket had a great bark and a nice smoke ring.
Pork ribs were very tender but honestly, since we are from CA, we want to do beef bbq.
My partner is a far better than good pitmaster, so when we sample bbq, I have to remember to listen to him (no more sides!).
Brisket: 8/10
Pork ribs: 9/10
Mac and cheese was good (could use a little more sharpness but that’s a taste thing) and Brussels sprouts were hands down best I’ve had recently.
Gonna try them again, I think I just caught them at the wrong time / location. Staff were really nice and there was a slight sweetness to the brisket bark which was a nice change.
Look for daily specials as the whole hog is a can’t miss. Top notch food from a great couple!
