Federalist Pizza is a wonderfully refreshing pizza restaurant in Sacramento. They have an eclectic menu of pizza, salads, and other menu items; we have never ordered an item we did not thoroughly enjoy. Their pizzas are prepared and cooked to perfection. They have a wonderful selection of beverages. There is plenty of seating, including seating around a fire pit, great for cooler evenings.

They also have a wide selection of board games you can enjoy, great for the whole family!

Do yourself a favor and check out Federalist Pizza; you will not be disappointed!

We love this place. It’s tucked away but always lively. Every pizza we have is excellent and their salads are sneakily good. There is always a fun beer selection everyone that is working has been so kind.

This review was made in connection with a Toast promotion.

Pizza was delicious. It could be slightly less soggy in the middle, but good flavor and soft, chewy crust. Nice beer selection. I wanted to try an ice cream sandwich but they ran out by 6:30 pm. Despite not realizing ahead of time that it was counter service, staff were great. There was a hiccup with our pizza, which they went out of their way to correct. They gave us a new pizza immediately. As a former restaurant manager, I understand these things happen, and I appreciate that it was handled properly. I like that it’s outdoors. We’ll be back.

Loved the vibe as it is one of those places that you can drive by and not notice. Pizza was fresh and light. Would go back again especially when the weather warms up.

What do you mean it’s in the alley way?

Yes girl, you got to park your car and make your way to a restaurant in the alley.

Once your in the aroma of pizza and fresh air surround you.

You order at the counter and then grab your pizzas at the kitchen window.

Very cute space and delicious pizza!

Did I mention they have vegan yum yums.

Recommend for sure!

Federalist is a rare gem and we’re so happy they survived Covid. Their offerings are not as wide and varied as before but the quality is top notch. By FAR the best pepperoni pizza I have ever had, period. They baked bread and serve grilled mushrooms and great salads…. Add to that the wide variety of beer and it’s a winner for sure!

So it’s Saturday (6/24) night and the family’s hungry. Couldn’t decide where to go. Son had an idea to try this place out. He’s been here once before, said it’s a pretty cool spot to grab a bite. We’re up for trying different things. The place is pretty cool. Tucked in between the alleyway in downtown. The set up is inviting and gives out a great vibe (5/5). Service was pretty cool. You walk up to the ordering counter, place your order, get handed a number, and you find you own table. Don’t mind that one bit at all for a chill place to dine (5/5). We waited about 15 – 20 minutes or so before our pizzas came. We ordered three. While the pizza was good, I must admit it wasn’t exciting when compared to other pizza parlors serving gourmet pizzas. Portions are on the smaller size for the price. The pizza is made with minimal amount of crust (which is preferred by some) with lite amount of toppings. Taste wise, it’s not bad but not exciting. I would give it a 3/5. The atmosphere is great though and the staff friendly. Over all, I would give this place a 4/5 and a value to price ration of 4/5 also. It’s not a place that would top my list to go to for the food but certainly a place to go to socialize and grab a bite to eat. If you’re in the area with friends and looking for something not super fancy, gives out a good vibe where food taste/quality is not a deal breaker, then this is a place worth checking out.

Great Dough , little burnt from one side still great , fresh tomatoes tastes great , I really liked some of the seating places which consisted of very comfortable couches and a real log of wood as the table , they even have a barrel table .

Pizza was incredible, toppings were super fresh. Fun, chill atmosphere. They had a kiwi strawberry beer. That was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. We will definitely be back.

I came walking over from the Farmer’s Market ( a little sign told me to come here for wood-fired pizza and beer ). I had to use google maps to find this little hidden gem in the alley since I’m not from Sacramento and am totally unfamiliar with the area, but I am so glad I stopped in. The guy behind the counter was super helpful ( I have a nut allergy and I am not a fan of tomato sauce on pizza… or onions… I KNOW! SORRY! ) He just made it so easy to decide what to order and I ended up ordering The Stanford w/o the pesto and red onions.

The wait time was about maybe 10 minutes? The dough was thin & soft, but with great flavor! I planned to maybe eat half and save the rest, but it was so good, tip-to-crust that I practically devoured the entire thing! So if you’re in the area and craving REAL pizza, I recommend this place a “MUST TRY!”… and then become a regular.

They also have a game stand next to the water shelf, and they advertise Free Bingo on Tuesdays! All I know is the next time I’m in Sac, I will definitely be back
