I traveled from Dublin, Ireland to Denver for work, and as someone with celiac disease I always research carefully before eating out. Federal Bar & Grill kept coming up for their gluten free food, and they absolutely lived up to the hype.
The restaurant is nestled in a relaxed neighborhood setting and has a great local vibe. What really sets it apart is that the owner and his wife are both celiac, so they truly understand how serious gluten safety is. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely kind about dietary needs.
The food was outstanding. Everything tasted fresh, well prepared, and full of flavor, not like typical “safe” food. Best of all, I did not get sick at all, which says everything. As a bonus, they even had a gluten free American blonde beer on draft, which felt like a rare treat while traveling.
If you are visiting Denver and need a place you can actually trust for gluten free dining, this spot is a must. Great food, great people, and real peace of mind. Highly recommended.

We stopped in before a show at the Federal Theater and were not disappointed! The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, but the food is amazing. My husband loved his ring of fire burger, and I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon salad. The cocktails were good and reasonably priced. The staff was very attentive as well. If we are ever up this way again, we will definitely be back.

If you are gluten-free, this is the place to be! The food here was amazing, and the service was excellent. As soon as they come to take your order, they ask if there are any gluten-free orders. They have dedicated fryers! All the GF options are clearly listed on the menu. We went during the day so there weren’t too many people in the restaurant. There is a lot of seating and a free parking lot. I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be returning.

Been going to federal b&g for a couple years.

Staff: the owner is amazing and is definitely passionate about his establishment. He is always there and making sure you are taken care of. The bartenders and servers are always efficient and friendly

Food: food always comes out hot and is delicious. All of the burgers and appetizers on the menu are top notch. I recommend the federalé burger

Gluten free: best gluten free bar food in Denver. They cater well to celiac as they use a different frier and grill for GF foods. The owner and his children are all GF and they can pretty much make anything on the menu gluten free

I would eat here at least once a month for the last 6 years and am very familiar with their burgers. A few months ago I opened my takeout when I got home and the burger patty was 2/3 of the normal size. I called the manager to let them know what was going on and immediately met with, “well our burger patties come premade from something something farm and they’re 4 ounces each so I’m pretty sure it’s 4 ounces.” to which I exclaimed, “I have a food scale and I’m weighing it right now and it is not 4 ounces“. To which your manager said, “well we have a scale you can use over here if you like.“ As if i was going to bring back my food to weigh it to then wait another half hour for a new burger? That was the last time I ordered from you guys and I’ve not been back since. I thought about not leaving this review but I just drove by there and was reminded that one of my favorite places treated me so awfully and there was not even a slight possibility that they were wrong or that the farm that they get their burgers from was wrong or anything other than your manager implying I was in the wrong/lying. I even kept the pictures from April here they are below

I really loved this place. It had a nice pub feel. Our waiter was super friendly the food was amazing and the atmosphere gives you the I can relax play cards or just hang out. The other nice this was that parking is right around back, and the location is easy to get to. I had the juicy Lucy, which had some deep flavors. However, I got a bite of the vampire burger with garlic butter and roasted garlic chips. That would be the burger i get next time man it was delicious, so flavorful and the buns had a hint if sweet to really tie it all together.

This place was amazing!! We came here for the food, had ring of fire burger and it was SOO GOOD!! We had some popcorn and we needed so many Diet Coke refills that our server brought us over the pitcher!! They had games in the back, the vibe was great. The fries were the first fries I’ve had in a while that didn’t taste like they came out of a Sysco truck!! 10/10

Fellow Celiacs rejoice! Come enjoy a full, and delicious menu, that won’t make you regret trusting a new place.

First impression is one of cozy and boisterous atmosphere. Followed by friendly staff that is accommodating and knowledgeable. And then you see it: the menu. Burgers, sammies, tacos, salads, and apps for days!!! The only non GF friendly item is the pretzel. Beyond that pick something. Anything. It will be delicious. Today I had the Ring of Fire(with sweet fries). Friggin munchies satisfied. It has that “burns so good” thing. Lots of spice countered with lots of flavor, crunchy jalapenos, a sause that made me question where it has been all my life, and fresh avocado all on a GF bun that doesn’t suck(if you know, you know). And the fries: cragely crunchy exterior with a fluffy cloud-like interior.

For desert I had a measure of Leopold Bros blackberry whiskey. And I’d highly recommend it.

If you enjoy good food, and great atmosphere, come on in.

We had a wonderful meal with excellent service at Federal Bar and Grill today. Beer, potato skins, chicken bites, and burgers were all excellent. Especially appreciated the wide variety of burgers on the menu. Thank you!

Excellent service. They work together to make sure things stay excellent. Originally came here for the potato skins, my favorite thing. The runny cheese was off-putting for me. But let me tell you about the fried artichoke hearts. This is a death bed meal for me. I told my daughter I want to be buried with them.
