Patio seating gem! It’s hot during the day but the friendly staff will help you beat the heat. Been eating lunch and dinner here for over 2 weeks now. Both dining in and ordering out. Staff is excited about the menu and knows how to sell good food. Good beer selection makes this spot a must for food or drinks anytime. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Dogs will be found on the patio often and who could ask for more! The vibe here is great. Vintage beer/tobacco decor with Durham swag throughout. The owner has a few other businesses throughout the area and we have been going to them too. Bravo!!

The service here was exceptional. I stopped by to pick up an order and Sam was working all by his self. He kept me updated, he didn’t get frustrated, and he was very quick all while handling like 8 customers at one time. This guy is amazing and If he is not already, he needs to be a manager. This is the guy to look for if you stop by this amazing place!

This place is painfully inconsistent (at least for takeout). I genuinely enjoyed the first time I ordered from here and I place the same order every single time. BUT ever since then, every single time, something is missing or incorrect. Tonight I ordered the salad (the last 2 times it was missing the goat cheese or the dressing) and this time it was missing BOTH the chicken and the dressing . I’m equally sad, disappointed, and annoyed.

Great selection of craft beers, I was very pleased. We came in hungry two minutes before the kitchen was closing and felt bad about wanting to get food. They insisted it’s fine they will be happy to make us our food. So we ordered fries to keep it simple. When the fries came out we were shocked by how much was on the plate. It had to have been four whole potatoes! Needless to say we left full and didn’t finish all of them.

Wow, happened upon this place & so glad we did. Food is spectacular…great beer selection and service is on point. I had the poboy & my husband had the Reuben wrap. The fries are cooked with fresh garlic. Amazing! Will definitely be back!

I used to frequent this place and I’m sure I still would if I was going out to eat and drink more nowadays. Hopefully they still do their daily meal specials(usually what we would go for) I don’t think I was ever disappointed. They even knew about drinks that I couldn’t find elsewhere so they got me with some nostalgia…..love the decor and it cozy atmosphere.

First Visit to the Federal. Learned of this place from the Duke Law website. Comfortable and familiar feeling even with a first visit. Ordered the Federal burger and the brat with a pretzel bun. Both were excellent, loaded with way to many fries. Good selection of local beers. Service was efficient. Will be back.
