We started the meal with the garlic and rosemary focaccia served with chive-filled butter, which was an excellent decision. Everything was delectable from start to finish. I also do not exaggerate when I say this place has the BEST tiramisu–even better than anything I can find in Boston’s North End. Heidi is the inimitable server who elevates the entire experience with her attentiveness, sweetness and grace.
The ambiance is warm and beautifully curated. Real candles on the tables, holiday decor, and a frosted Christmas tree and pine cones line the booth seating.
This is a perfect seaside spot for date night, family get-together, solo night at the bar with a book, or just because it’s Tuesday. A+, brava y muchas gracias to the front and back of the house who work hard to deliver a class experience that will make this place unforgettable.
Wow…start to finish – excellent!
Great vibe from the time we entered. Packed house but table was ready at time of reservation. Love the table rows and amazing view…we got lucky with a near window table. Offered water and drinks straight away. Huge shout out to our server, Heidi (and the support staff)…service was outstanding!
Started out with martinis. Wife loved the cider and spice, mine was up with a twist extra dry. Of course with martinis…must have the beets and olives for a perfect pairing and I mean perfect. We threw in some oysters (Rockport, right?) and an autumn wedge. The wedge was one of best I’ve had in a while…earthy, fall flavor with a creamy dill dressing to die for…
Entrees were tenderloin with lobster top and bolognese. Wagyu tenderloin was perfectly MR and adding the poached lobster is a no brainer. This was a truly great surf/turf! So, this next part is tricky because I have had some amazing bolognese in North End, Little Italy, etc. Typically I would consider bolognese in an Italian reataurant but I must have had a vision and thank you for that. Because I honestly think this is the best bolognese I have ever had…the flavors were perfection…unbelievable.
Didn’t think it could go higher but I love chocolate and who doesn’t love mousse. So there ya go…rich, creamy, dark chocolate mousse was so light and delicious.
One of the best overall service, food, and atmosphere meals I have had in a while.
Should be 6 stars…wow!
We decided to do some apps and not do an entree . The food was amazing, it was like being on a tasting tour. The whipped ricotta, roasted carrots, prawns and focaccia are all a must. The wedge salad is also an excellent choice. The drink list was very nice as was the wine list.
Your taste buds will thank you!!!
Definitely would come back and I highly recommend recommend.
The restaurant was featuring wines from a vineyard in Chile and the wine suggested for my ribeye was excellent steak. For dessert I ordered some kind of cake with caramel sauce and a scoop of ice cream. While the cake and sauce were good, the scoop of ice cream was the smallest scoop of ice cream I have ever seen.
To top it all off, the people at the table right next to me apparently knew someone in the kitchen (my guess was the chef). Well the chef came to the people at this table 3 ty – each time plopping his hefty self on the bench seat just a few feet from me – almost lifting me off my seat. Okay, I’m embellishing a bit here, but it was very disruptive and disappointing, nonetheless.
Our waitress, Heidi, was fantastic—super friendly and made some amazing recommendations that made the night even better. We started with oysters, prosciutto, and the prawn, which was highly recommended and absolutely worth it. Cocktails were solid, and once the food started landing, we switched to wine. Great call.
The salads were fresh and well-balanced, and the standout of the night was the pea soup with butter-poached lobster and bacon. That dish alone was unforgettable.
For entrees, we had the bolognese, halibut, mussels, and mushroom risotto with added lobster. Every plate was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Eating that kind of seafood just steps from the water made it even better.
The whole place gives off that perfect New England summer energy, but I’d come back any time of year. If you’re thinking about dinner plans, call your babysitter and book a table. You won’t regret it.
