I tried F&D Cantina on the recommendation of someone in my office, and wow… I was absolutely blown away. From the first sip to the last bite, everything exceeded expectations.
The skinny spicy margarita may have been the best I’ve ever had. It was perfectly balanced, fresh, and made with real jalapeños that gave it just the right kick without overpowering the flavor. You can tell they don’t cut corners.
I ordered the lobster and shrimp quesadilla, and it was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. The seafood tasted high quality, the portions were generous, and every bite was delicious.
The atmosphere and service were great, and the entire experience felt like a treat. I’ll definitely be back and next time I’m bringing friends. Highly recommend!

Came here because we saw their restaurant on YouTube. The meal served to the YouTubers was different than ours, especially the beef fajita portion. However, we will give a rating of slightly above average to the fajitas overall flavor and presentation. This is first restaurant we’ve tried where fajitas were not served Chinese stir fry style.
To be fair, we’re Texans and Houstonians in particular – so we tend to set the bar very high on Mexican restaurants. There’s no better Mexican anywhere outside of Texas. That’s a fact.
The first pic below is the fajitas Del Mar platter at our long time favorite place in Houston. The second pic is a pic of the fajitas served to YouTubers. The other pics are of our meal at F&D. You can see a difference between our platter & beef served to YouTubers.
The salsa here needs help. It’s like thick crushed tomatoes with zero flavor. The Roja sauce is a slight step above.
The fajitas at F&D were good but the beef was disappointing as it was tiny little pieces rather than slices like we saw on YouTube Channel. We had big hopes and they were not completely dashed. The rice and black beans served with fajitas were cold.
Overall, if we lived closer, we’d try fajitas again.
The server we had was extremely accommodating and the manager checked on us on and off due to our complaint over cold queso. We certainly appreciated their efforts. We’re just tough customers as we eat out and try new restaurants frequently.
We did have to move tables from indoors to outdoors because the music was incredibly loud especially for à lazy Sunday afternoon trying to have lunch out. Turn the music down!

We have wonderful experience at F&D Cantina. Management really seems to care and that passes down to the staff in the kitchen and on the floor.. drinks not only looked amazing, they tasted great. The food came out quickly and was delicious. It seems to be priced about right for what you get, and we will definitely come back again as soon as possible.

Get the grande margarita and thank me later! Happy hour options are great. I enjoyed the taquitos, trio, empanadas and corn. Jayleen, our waitress, was welcoming, helpful and attentive and overall a great waitress. I look forward to many more happy hour sessions at F&D Cantina in Lake Mary and going in on their Sunday brunch!

We’ve been to FD Cantina in Downtown before, but it’s our first time at Lake Mary’s, and honestly, we loved it! The decor, vibe, and staff really make for a wonderful evening. The food comes out fast, it’s not too expensive, and the taste is fantastic! Our server, Carmen, was great and super attentive. We’re definitely planning to come back.

Only posting this to warn the next person considering takeout from here… Just don’t do it. This is the second time we’ve ordered takeout and we were hoping the first time was a fluke. They size down the portions when you order takeout by at least half. Half of a burrito that I’ve ordered in restaurant, they manage to make a to go version that only fills half of a to-go container. Same goes for the quesadillas as well. The small container of rice added to the quesadilla was an additional $3.00 and it’s barely 3 bites worth. We specifically ordered a large queso because their queso is just fantastic and the amount you get with the trio is pretty minimal for a group that all really like it. The image depicted is HALF of a to go container. You get more queso in the trio order in restaurant than we did in this large to go order that cost twice as much. It took effort and intention to not just finish filling the container. We specifically order through the business website so they aren’t getting taken advantage of by companies like DoorDash and UberEats etc. Turns out they’re just taking advantage of the consumer to cut their losses. I love the food but do NOT order takeout, go inside and eat.

Great drinks. Great tasty food. The chicken quesdilla is so delicious, however there was so much liquid at the bottom of the quesdilla, it made it difficult to hold and eat it. Its dripping with either oil or water ♂️.
The Mexican pizza is good but way too many black olives & something that tasted alil too acidic (whatever the Colorado is maybe ♂️).
Piccadilla means beef btw. The Mexican pizza comes with beef.
The crust for the pizza was perfect, crispy and light.
Loved the guava cocktail. Prices are high which is the norm in this area it seems.
They do have happy hour but it’s very lacking. No chips & salsa included for the table btw.
Drinks range from $12-16.

We stumbled upon F & D Cantina at the last minute after finding that most restaurants were packed for Mother’s Day….and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The vibe here is lively and inviting, and it definitely feels like the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a few good drinks.
The food was very tasty, fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality makes up for it. What really stood out to us, though, was the service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from the moment we walked in.
I’d absolutely come back again, not just for the food, but to enjoy a night out with drinks. I noticed they have a great selection of cocktails and other beverages that I’d love to try next time. Highly recommend this place whether you’re in the mood for a full meal or just a good time with friends!

We showed up here with a large party last minute. The manager and his team were all very accommodating and handled our large group (with all our separate checks) seamlessly and always with smiles. They were very kind & flexible and competent. Our soccer team and the parents all had a great experience and the food and drinks were all great as well! Truly amazing service!
