We ate here after we couldn’t take the heat at the NIU FB game. My son’s a freshman n heard the burgers were killer. They did not lie…the burgers were KILLER! Cooked to perfection, juicy, delicious. We had fries, delicious slightly seasoned, cooked perfect steak fries! I love good steak fries. Service was fast despite a shift change going on. Prices were comparible to Bar Louie or someplace similar. The decor is really beautiful. All carved wood with a huge wooden bar with carvings and a beautiful light fixture above the main bar. We really liked it and will definitely eat there again!

In town, for my granddaughter’s state, cheerleading championship.And we decided to try this place. And i’ve got to say, i’m very happy we did!!! I got the fatty burger and it was amazing cooked.So well and their cajun, potato salad is out of this world!!! The atmosphere is electrifying and the service was impeccable especially for how busy it was!!! I don’t know when I’ll be in the area again but I guarantee if I am I will come here!!

Stopped here on a whim after an NIU soccer match. Wasn’t expecting too much, but Fatty’s definitely exceeded expectations. The service was fast and friendly, the menu was large without being overwhelming, and the portions were huge… all for a reasonable price.
Both the Huskie Burger and the Cubby Bleu chicken sandwich were delicious. And definitely opt for the potato salad side. You won’t be disappointed.
Definitely worth the stop.

Stopped in for the Friday fish fry and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing — perfectly seasoned fish and generous portions. The famous potato salad is delicious and a must-try. Plenty of sides to choose from (coleslaw and beans available), and the beer menu has something for everyone. Great atmosphere, fun company, and Greg and the team made the visit even better. Consistently excellent. Highly recommend!

Atmosphere was great outdoors. Inside was cramped and squished feeling so we went back outdoors for seating. We were a group of 5 but even if it was just me or just me and one other the inside would still feel compressed and none of us are claustrophobic but it felt like the tables were too close and like the walls were closing in on us for the little time we spent inside. It took a server almost 15 minutes to finally come to the table, the signage said seat yourself, and ask if we would like drinks. We had to appropriate menus from an empty table too. The server walked away even though there was a person whose drink order hadn’t been taken yet. Once food orders were made we were back to being ignored by staff. People at our table had to walk up to the bar for drink refills as the server wasn’t doing it. We also had to walk up to the bar to ask for silverware after the food was delivered as it wasn’t all finger food that was ordered. We even waited a bit to see if the server was coming with silverware but they didn’t.
The food was okay… The coleslaw was more saucy than it should be it was borderline cabbage soup. Two of us ordered the Polish Reuben. They came out unimpressive, picture attached. Reuben traditionally has the meat more folded/crumpled up not just slices of meat stacked together. If you know you know. Someone else ordered the Durango because it read like a decent burger but it was way to heavy on spicy, not spicy, it was just off and boring. When it came to paying for our meal the server hovered over the device like they just had to know what they were going to get for the tip. This was extremely uncomfortable. I’ve been a server before. That is the worst thing in the world you can do if you want any sort of decent tip. I don’t know. Maybe the rules changed since I was a server and you’re supposed to stand right there over the person while they write in the numbers. That’s just as creepy to me though. If, and that’s a big if at this point, we ever come back to this establishment. It’s probably going to be a takeout order for something stupid like that behavior wise from the service. The food was not that impressive though so I don’t know if we would ever come back here.

Hostess kept disappearing waited 15 minutes before we even saw her and there was a line of people waiting and plenty of open tables. Food was awesome! Atmosphere is beyond LOUD and LOTS of kids just running everywhere.

The 5 star rating is for their TexMex burger combo. I don’t drink, I don’t hang out at bars so I cannot rate the other foods or drinks or the atmosphere. They always give me great service. I would recommend going there for the TexMex burger.

Very nice menu. Yummy food and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Love sitting outside when the weather is in your favor. Our go-to restaurant in DeKalb when we want to sit back and enjoy some really good food.
My wife loves the Cajun potato salad while I like the Windsor Fruit Salad. Highly recommended.

Finally went to this famous place. Mostly because their potato salad was highly recommended. Well I have to say i was not impressed. Way to much bacon so you really couldn’t taste the potatoes. Chose the tex mex hamburger I gave it an 7.5 it was not well done like asked. It was very noisy and extremely loud. It was nice having a free sample of whiskey though. I probably go back but during lunch hour and see if its better. The waitress was great. She was awesome. The wait time for 2 was about 15 -20 minutes tops. Yet the entrance was crazy. Long line and the area is not very big to fit all the people that were waiting to be seated. Overall it was ok.
