I came here for the first time today. I ordered a cup of the seafood chowder, hummus combo, and arayes. I got the pineapple agua fresca to drink. It was good, but I wasn’t a fan of the foamy stuff on top. The seafood chowder was delicious and came out piping hot. I forgot to take a picture of it. As far as the hummus platter goes, I absolutely loved the pesto hummus and the red pepper hummus. The regular hummus tasted like something was missing, but I’m not sure what that is yet. I’m going to try adding some lemon juice and garlic to it at home. The areyas were so good, seasoned perfectly, and came with a generous serving of fries. I couldn’t decide between two entrees, so I asked the waitress. She was very helpful and the service was excellent. There is a large parking lot, so you don’t have to worry about paying for parking. I will definitely be coming back.

The shawarma was not that great because the garlic was not fried well and why is the shawarma spherical in shape? Too many pickles and minced chicken! No smoky flavour in the chicken.

Another day, I tried the Navratan korma and it was delicious and the mutton curry was decent but didn’t seem that fresh. Although, the indian dishes were definitely better.

About the service, they charged me someone else’s bill and they didn’t even realize it until I came back and asked for an explanation. Please pay attention to your customers.

The turkish coffee was awesome. Overall, this is a great restaurant to try with some room for improvement.

Stopped here for breakfast on a trip and it was so good! They have regular American breakfast food but also middle eastern food. It was new and amazing! If they were closer I’d eat there all the time!

This afternoon, I had the pleasure of dining with friends who share my passion for food at a newly opened establishment. Despite our large party of nine, the service was efficient, and our meals were served promptly and at the correct temperature. I particularly enjoyed the spicy lentil soup and the Turkish coffee, which reminded me of my travels to the Mediterranean region. My husband’s Chicken Jalfrezy was also noteworthy, with its rich and vibrant flavors. The hummus with steak was a delicious appetizer. The portions were substantial, and we ended up taking half of our meals home. The service was outstanding, and the owner even took the time to visit our table. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

If you want flavor galore, you need to give this place a try. The bistro is nicely decorated, service was friendly, food cooked fresh. What else could you ask for? While I was there for dinner with some friends I had the grape leaves, mint lemonade, butter chicken, and banana pudding. Everything was 10/10 I can’t stop talking about the butter chicken, it was so unbelievably good. It looks very unassuming from the outside but trust me, it’s worth the visit.

We ate at Fatoum for my husband’s birthday. The food was delicious!. The service was also really excellent. We’re planning to go back for breakfast soon – because their breakfast menu looks really nice. We look forward to when they are open later – I think that their over-sized booths will make it nice for large gatherings (5-6 people/booth) for dinner or appetizers together. They don’t serve alcoholic beverages, but hopefully it will be byob for the evening. Highly recommend!

The taste was not good at all. They used too much spice in every portion! As you can see in the pictures, we tried different types of meat, but all of them had the same overwhelming flavor from that spice.

To be honest, I did not like it at all. I’m from the Middle East and am familiar with the flavors of that region, but this experience was terrible!

Here’s my honest review of Fatoum Bistro as a middle eastern:
– Hummus was okay, I think they used too much tahini, not my favorite
– Labneh dip was great
– Tabbouleh salad needed a bit more lemon and olive oil, a bit dry
– Mixed grill platter is big and generous. Lamb lollipops a bit overcooked, the shish tawook and kebab were good.
Overall, food was good, as authentic as one can get in State College. However, there was only one server, so when it got a bit busy, service was slow.

My family and I had a wonderful and super yummy time at Fatoum! My husband and I have been 2 times and it was wonderful to bring my children (5 of them) and parents to sample their amazing meals. I always worry with the amount of children we have if we are going to be a bother but we were welcomed right in and they were very gracious with our large table!

If you haven’t been you definitely need to go, it’s wonderful. My husband and I will be trying their dinner menu in the near future!

The place is quite pleasant, with a nice atmosphere and the server was very friendly. The food was okay, but I was highly disappointed by their Kanafeh. I’m a big fan of this dessert, and paying 9 dollars for a piece for it to come flat, with barely no cheese, no pull, hard and dry like Styrofoam, no syrupy flavor (just butter) was quite the disappointment.
