The deep dish pie they make is simply perfection! I’ve been eating pizza for 45 years and I have eaten pizza from New York City and Chicago. If you want the best deep dish in Michigan I highly recommend ordering one from Father & Son Pizzeria!

First time getting pizza from Father & Son and this location on Gratiot in Chesterfield Township WILL BE my go to location. I ordered a small w/ a 1/2 pound of fries and was not disappointed. The pizza, the toppings, the crust..DAMN GOOD and I’m a Fry guy and the amount was more than perfect and salted nicely.

Best lunch deal around. The sauce is the best in Michigan. A small business that is worth the drive to eat. There is some swaying inside but the food is great to take out.

I came here because I have never had Chicago style deep dish pizza and I wanted to give it a try.
The staff inside were friendly and helpful. I ordered their smallest Chicago style deep dish and I wasn’t able to finish half of it.
I ordered pepperoni and mushroom, I probably should not have gotten the mushroom. Mushroom might have been from a can I should have asked, but apparently you don’t want wet things added to a deep dish pizza, but I don’t think it adversely affected it.
There’s a lot going on in a deep dish pizza. It takes 45 minutes to bake. Off hand it looks like there was a bottom layer of pepperoni and maybe mushrooms, a whole bunch of cheese, and a layer of sauce on the top.
The crust is the standard pizza crust.
Some people don’t like Chicago style pizza, strictly a preference for some, but if you’ve never had one, this is your chance. If you’ve never had Chicago style pizza, just try it. I really enjoyed mine, and they seem to do it pretty well.
I’m traveling without my family, I saw was not worried about gluten free, but they do have a gluten-free crust. The gluten-free crust does contain cheese. Many celiacs cannot have dairy so that would not be possible for you.
I don’t think I’ll try it again, but knowing what I know now if I still hadn’t tried one, I would still give it a go. And especially if you are in the area here, this is much closer than Chicago.
I knew I could never finish that pizza so I didn’t try any of their other items. Their salads look really good and they have some kind of special chicken that I simply didn’t have enough stomach space to try.

I’ve been searching for a Chicago style pizza location in Southeast Michigan for quite some time. Thankfully one of the groups on Facebook suggested father and son pizzeria. I could not be more excited to have found this establishment. I called to place an order (for some reason I couldn’t do a Chicago style online) and the girl that answered was super friendly. I drove from the Rochester Hills area and it was well worth the travel. By the time we got home, Our pizza was so fresh, not overly stuffed and did not feel super heavy after eating one slice. We did a split pizza in half, one side with the different kinds of meats, and the other side was more vegetarian with pepperoni. Chef’s kiss! You have a customer for life!

The pizza was good, but the total came out to $44.40 for delivery—which felt a bit high. That included a large round pepperoni and cheese pizza, a half order of cheese bread, a 2-liter of Pepsi, and a $5 tip. Tasty overall, but definitely on the pricey side for what I got.

Best pizza place in my area by far! They use better quality ingredients and give you more of them. For the best tasting pizza around! They don’t deliver to my area and I still choose them and will gladly drive to get my pizza! Clean store , friendly staff. Emily Rocks !
