My first time checking out Fatboy Sandos. This place is located inside of the International Marketplace which is in the process of permanently closing. Customer service was nice and friendly. My pork katsu sando was a lil bit dry. The flavor profile was pretty good. The fries were slightly overcooked. The flavor was excellent and the lemon sauce complimented real well. My experience was good but the food wasn’t mind blowing .

Absolutely amazing food! This is an absolute must do food place for any food junkie. The food was incredibly fresh. We drove an hour to get here and I would/will go back. The cashier was super friendly and helped with what to order. And yes he was right you must try the fries. Not really an atmosphere except being in the middle of the lobby surrounded by umbrellas and murals. But that made the atmosphere. Go here…. I will go back… And would give food a 6! Heck we even bought more food to go afterwards.

Great food! Egg salad sando hit the spot, the bread was fresh and soft. Onigiri was very authentic. The potato salad was the biggest shocker, so flavorful great consistency, I could eat a whole bucket of that alone.

I finally went here for the first time! I’d been following Fatboy Sandos on Instagram, enjoying their videos and posts. I made the trek to Mesa to try out their bento boxes and fruit sandos. It was a bit pricey, but the price is to pay for the milk bread and freshly made unqiue food. My partner and I ordered bento boxes, we got the egg sando, pork katsu sando, the furikake fries, the marinated bok choy and potato salad. We also got the strawberry sandos and drinks offered: a can of thai tea and melon soda. The location is inside of an International market that boasts an incredible selection of food, near the front at the food court. It was spacious and clean, ableit very noisy with 3 different speakers playing their respective music. The wait wasn’t very long, and we got our food served in to go trays. The food was hot and ready, the bread soft and tasty. The pork katsu was fried to perfection, the pork not tough and tasted amazing with the sauce, mayo, and mustard. The egg sando had perfectly soft boiled eggs with wonderfully made egg salad, it was not bland and very comforting to eat. The food fills you up very fast! The furikake fries were savory with a bit of spice along with amazing texture. The marinated bok choy was chewy and a great accompaniment to the sandos. My partner loved the potato salad with the soft boiled egg. The drinks went well with it. As a date spot or a treat or both, Fatboy Sandos is a fun tasty place to go to. You also get to explore an international market with a lot of amazing food. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. (They also offer a point system with a birthday reward, so make sure to sign up!) I’m so happy they opened their second location here in Phoenix. Oh and make sure to take advantage of their happy hours too!

My family and I drove out from the West Valley to try Fatboy Sandos. We’ve spent time in Japan and we were excited to try the food here. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious and Mike is so friendly and engaging. The drive was worth the experience. Thank you, Fatboy Sandos. We will be back.

Absolutely loved this place! The owner was so nice and upbeat! We got the mandarin sando and strawberry sando. Both so good! The fruit was fresh and on the strawberry sando, it had sugar on it and it was really good! Also had a spicy tuna onigiri and it’s made to order. They are so big and have great flavor. Will return and highly recommend! <3

Their pork katsu rice bowl was awesome. Their furikake fries as its side really elevated the taste of their dish. The guy at the counter also delivered an awesome service. This place won’t let you down.

We drove down to Mesa specifically to try the sandos after reading about them on Phoenix Food Nerds. The sandos are very tasty, made fresh right there after you order them. My favorite is the shrimp Ebi. My wife loved the fries, which included so many good tastes. The atmosphere is…inside an Asian grocery. Otherwise a neat place to eat something unique for Arizona.

We went here after seeing it on various Instagrams and we were NOT disappointed It’s located just inside the AZ International Marketplace, to the right side when walking in. Plenty of dine-in seating. We decided to order the bento which comes with your choice of a sando OR a rice bowl, 2 sides, and a drink. We each had the furikake fries, and miso ginger bok choy sides. Waffle fries are normally hit or miss for me, but they were the perfect amount of crispy and thick, and the flavor was excellent! The sauce they come with only made it even better but they’re flavorful enough that I could also just eat them as is and be perfectly happy. The Miso Ginger Bok Choy was super fresh and refreshing, like a salad with great cronch (crunch); I could see eating it all the time but especially refreshing in summer. For mains, we had the Pork Katsu sando and the Japanese Egg Salad sando. The pork katsu was juicy and tender, exactly the quality you want! The Egg Salad was perfectly balanced in mayo/mustard flavor mix, it hits that egg salad sandwich craving 100% – the whole boiled eggy in the middle is *chef’s kiss*. Overall, 10/10, highly recommend and absolutely will be coming here again. Next try is the Ebi Katsu Sando! The boss that rang us up recommended it and was super friendly and chill.
Not to forget the sweet fruit sando and drinks, they have a small selection of drinks but the options compliment the meal well. The fruit sando (we had strawberry) was very delicious! Light and perfectly sweet strawberries in it. I could eat so many. The bread of all the sandos were fantastically soft, layered-textured and fresh. No soggy or stale bread here. The sandwhiches are definitely filling, so expect to be very full if you get the bento! You can tell there’s a lot of love in what they make
