An amazing smelling burger joint in downtown Carbondale.
The menu has lots of options and most are burgers with some other proteins, hot dogs, salads, etc. They only offered canned drinks or bottled Mexican coke (if you know you know)
The restaurant is small with limited indoor seating but an outdoor patio in the front and back (back was closed as it was November which is usually much colder)
The burgers were cooked to perfection and messy in the best way possible. I had the double standard, which comes with two grass fed beef patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onion (yum!), pickles and house sauce.
The fries are cooked to order in canola oil and just divine. They were salted well and a little thin but not matchstick small. The onion rings were the BOMB. Fried to golden brown they were crunchy, hot and something I will have to order the next time.
Ask for extra napkins and enjoy!

This burger joint is having an identity crisis in the best way possible—burgers, tacos, hotdogs… basically a delicious choose-your-own-adventure. Best tasty freeze in town, hands down. Come hungry and confused, leave full and happy.

A lil expensive but it was worth it. I really love the fresh fries they taste homemade and have the perfect crisp. Good music and down home atmosphere. Nice girls working as well 🙂 I recommend the mushroom burger. I ate it too quickly before I could share a pic.

The old hole-in-the-wall feeling…. Funky for upscale Carbondale.
Food was tasty but burgers not big enough for super hungry post hike.
The hand cut fries are fantastic.

Awesome local ma and pa shop. High quality beef made for a fantastic tasting burger. I added bacon and Swiss, the bacon was crispy and perfectly cooked. I got a side of fries which was plenty for me and my comrade to share. Really quick, we didn’t wait long. Didn’t think the price was that bad. Especially considering its on a main street of a touristy mountain town.

Fat belly used to be great. Went again recently on a quiet Sunday afternoon and waited for over 20 min to get a burger. When I why it was taking so long they said the fries weren’t ready yet. I waited another 5 min before asking if I could at least have my hamburger so it didn’t get cold which they gave me. The burger was lukewarm by then. Never got my fries. They did give me a refund which I appreciated. A deep clean and some fly strips needed. #makefatbellygreatagain!

Decent tasting burgers. Thin patties, way expensive for what you get. Sweet potato fries were delicious. If you want water they give you a mini cup … about 1/4 cup you can refill….

I’ve eaten burgers in many states, the state I live in is even nicknamed “The Beef State”….. …. With that said the double Pepper Burger is the best burger I’ve had anywhere in the USA. Everything works together, it’s juicy, flavorful, crunchy, and tangy this burger legit has it all. The Lamb patties are also next level, the standards, the bbq burger are all great as well. I stop here anytime I’m even remotely close. Do yourself a favor and do the same…you won’t regret it!

Perfect hole in the wall burger joint! I ordered the green chili chicken breast sandwich…it was exploding with flavor. Also a side of fries and a Coke. Simple fresh lunch spot…
They also offer hand scooped ice cream, indoor and outdoor seating under a covered patio.
