Highly recommend! Ordered the chicken katsu appetizer and 3 special sushi rolls: Fat Salmon, Double Down, and Lost Rainbow. The chicken katsu was average but the rolls stole the show! They are all uniquely flavorful and you can taste each ingredient in the roll. The Fat Salmon roll has a jalapeno and pickled pineapple salsa that works so well with the salmon.

Have been coming here for years and the evolution of the menu is real ! So glad they have added back more veg/vegan rolls. I think my 2 favorites will always be Old School and Sweet Meadow but tried KFC today and I think it may have earned the title of 3rd favorite! Great place to come with veg/non-veg mixed party since there are the same number of non-veg sushis as veg sushis.

We’ve been loyal customers of Fat Salmon for a long time and have always loved it, but on recent visits something feels different. It seems like the recipes, quality, and even portion sizes have changed—and unfortunately, not for the better. What used to be one of our favorite go-to spots now feels inconsistent compared to the high standard they once had. We really hope they can return to the level of freshness, flavor, and generous portions that originally made this place so special, because it’s disappointing to see the experience slipping.

This was my second time visiting, and I have to say the food really makes up for the service. The rolls and the sake are 10/10 — absolutely delicious.
However, the service could definitely be better. It took about 10 minutes for my server to even come over, and when she did, she didn’t introduce herself or offer drinks — just asked if I wanted to put in a food order. She also never checked back to see if I needed anything. On my first visit, the service was similar — not terrible, just noticeably slow when it came to getting menu items.
The atmosphere is cute, and as a whole I do enjoy the place, but the servers sometimes act extremely busy even when the restaurant isn’t.
Overall, the food is worth coming back for, but I hope the service improves to match the quality of the menu.

I mean truly this is the best sushi spot in Philly for many reasons. One, the staff is super nice. Two, the food is so incredibly fresh and always on point. Three, it’s at a part of city that’s a little less chaotic, so you can usually find a paid parking spot nearby. Love Fat Salmon, I would highly recommend!

We went for an early dinner, and I was excited because this used to be one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the city. Since it was early we were one of three tables in the restaurant. The service was incredibly sub par, it took so long to just get refills on water and to have our food served. It looked like the priority for the staff was to get drinks served from the bar. The sushi was not at all as good as it used to be, I got the fat salmon, double down and shrimp tempura- all of which were highly recommended. None were great, expensive for what they were, and honestly I have had much better sushi at other less known restaurants.
