I’ve ordered a few birthday cakes from here and they are always incredible! Their cakes are super moist (sorry for using the m word) and their frostings are the perfect balance of sweetness and never overly sweet. All of the other items I’ve tried have been really good as well- the quiche is a great way to start your day! I like their tea selection as well- really unique teas which is a nice bonus

Fat Rabbit has been at the center of many of our family’s celebrations over the years – from birthdays to just because. We also love stopping by the bakery/cafe for a breakfast sandwich or treat during the week or weekend. Everything is delicious and thoughtfully made! We’re so grateful they call Richmond home. You are not going to find a prettier cake in RVA than at Fat Rabbit. Everything I’ve had has been delicious – their cookies, their pastries, but especially their cakes. Their 5″ cakes are so cute and the perfect size for a small group (or you know, just for you lol). And I love love love that they have such creative flavor combinations in addition to the classics. The London Fog is one of my favorites (that salted caramel drip – inject it into my veins). But I don’t think you can go wrong here. Great cakes, great pastries, great coffee.

What a lovely bakery/cafe! We sampled a large selection of both savory and sweet treats and all was delicious. Our coffee drinks were great as well. Large space so plenty of space to wait or sit inside. The cakes look amazing and wish i lived closer to be able to get cakes from here.

There was a line but moved quickly. The food was fresh and the coffee was delicious. Small seating area but comfortable vibes. Prices were good for the portions you get. Loved the hop tarts! Nothing was overly sweet which was a plus.

Fat Rabbit has the best cakes in Richmond hands down. I love that their cakes aren’t too sweet, and that the flavors are so creative. We ordered a couple of cakes for our wedding and they were beautiful and tasted amazing. There is a painting of our wedding cake at the cafe, so that holds a special place in my heart.
My husband and I try our best to order a cake for every birthday. We want to make a tradition of ordering the coconut cake every anniversary so we can reminisce!

Fat Rabbit is the only place that I go for my special occasion cakes. The flavors are balanced and creative. I truly have never had something there that I did not like. Their pastry case is also a major star of the show. With the addition of their espresso program, it’s really the place to be. The staff is so friendly and don’t rush you at all. I love the back patio for some natural ambience.
