A beautiful restaurant in Homer Alaska. We are here for a week for work, we stopped here for dinner our 1st night in town. Order pizza and OH MY this is hands down the best pizza I have had in a long time. The staff was very nice and gave us some town tips while we asked lots of questions. Was not so busy but tour season is over until April. If you find yourself in Homer and want a great pizza this is the place for you.

Pizza was good. The atmosphere was snobby & stuck up. While waiting to be seated we were looking at the menu, the hostess took the menus out of our hands & said the table will be ready in a minute ‍♀️ The special sign was two sided also looking at that while waiting. She got an attitude & said that was the dinner special & pulled the sign back away from us. Your better off ordering at the to go window & not dealing with the staff inside.

Fat Olives is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in Alaska, and I was excited to finally check it out for myself. From the moment I walked in, the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff made for a great first impression. It was quiet, comfortable, and a perfect setting for a relaxing meal.

The menu had an amazing selection, though they were unfortunately out of steak and all of their fettuccine pasta options, leaving only red sauce-based dishes. While it was a little surprising, there were still plenty of choices to enjoy.

We started with the oysters, and I was impressed by both the quantity and the presentation. The sauce complemented them perfectly, and they paired wonderfully with my wine.

Since my original pasta choice wasn’t available, I decided to go for a pizza instead—and I’m so glad I did. The flavors, the perfect blend of cheeses, and the way everything melted together made for an absolutely incredible bite. Honestly, it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Alaska, easily making my top 10.

Overall, I highly recommend Fat Olives. It’s a true gem in Homer, and if you’re in the area, it’s a must-visit!

Have always enjoyed the pizza here! It never disappoints! This last trip I tried the Greek salad and it was huge and amazing! The garlic parmesan dressing is so yummy. The system between the waitress/ hostess is strange, we would ask the waitress for something and she would send the hostess out and we would have to repeat the request again, I know its an incredibly busy place but maybe a better communication system would be more effective. Will always come back!

This place has amazing food. The shrimp and scallop appetizer was incredible. The seasoning they use on the shrimp is unique and amazing. The salmon cakes were so good as well. We also got the olives special pizza and it was delicious!

We had such an amazing experience at Fat Olive’s. Dined here with my husband, (1/2) and our experience was nothing short of spectacular. Our server was Taylor and she was a dream. Attentive, helpful, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable, catering to my alternative dietary needs. If you’re ever in Homer I can’t recommend Fat Olives enough, and make sure to ask for Taylor as your server!

Fat Olives is doing some things right.

Our order was to-go, so we might have missed out on the full dine-in experience. Also, not all menu options are available to-go.

We started with the meatball and cheese bread appetizers. The cheese bread was okay, essentially a small cheese pizza. The meatballs, however, were well-made with great flavor. They came with a couple of pieces of bread, but we were expecting flatbread with extra sauce for dipping, so it was a bit underwhelming.

My daughter had a pepperoni and olive pizza and was satisfied with it. We also shared a Caesar Salad, which disappointed in overall flavor. We had a half White Devil and half Hitman pizza. The White Devil was okay, but the Hitman was something else, with flavors popping from the pesto sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, and salami.

We closed the meal by sharing a slice of chocolate layer cake and carrot cake. The chocolate layer cake was very sweet for my taste, but my daughters were big fans. I enjoyed the carrot cake, which stood out with its light cream cheese frosting, pecans, and especially the caramel drizzle.

Overall, Fat Olives has some hits and misses, but it’s worth a try.

I had the calzone and it was good and not too greasy but the portions were pretty small. I guess that reflected the price since it seemed pretty cheap. One thing I did notice was that the sandwiches didn’t include a side like fries or tots. It was literally just a sandwich. Of course fries were extra.

Two people in our party had the salmon burger and both said it was spicy, maybe a little too spicy and both were surprised it was spicy at all.

I might go there again if I just want a small portion of food but otherwise I would have to order 2 calzones. Staff was friendly and the place was bright and open. We had to park next door since the parking lot was full and it was moderately full inside.

We always come here anytime we are in Homer, one of my favorite places to eat and very reasonably priced. The wait can be long but it’s worth the wait.

Update from 2019! Came back here twice this time had our usual pizza but also tried the special fish tacos and a few soups and sandwiches! Can’t over state it this place is a must stop and worth any wait.
