We only visit Prattville about once a year, but we always stop at the same restaurant, which says a lot because there are other places we could go. We really love the ambience because we always sit outside where we can see the creek. The food is always good, and the service as well. The only thing I could ask for is that they made their own ranch and it didn’t come out of packets. I can’t help it that I judge my restaurants by their salad dressing. However, I guess I can understand because they probably don’t do a large enough volume of business. The barbecue was amazing so it made up for it. Thank you to the owner, who was very gracious. We will be back next year.

Fat Boy’s was named one of the 50 best barbecue restaurants in Alabama so I gave it a try. I enjoyed my meal as the barbecue was moist with a good texture. They have a great sauce that is made with a unique acid…pineapple juice. It’s sweet but not too sweet. The baked beans and onion rings were good and they have self-serve Coke products, which I love! They also serve these fun little hand pies, which are the perfect finish for lunch. I initially didn’t order one, then I saw two blackberry pies delivered to the table beside me. They got their hooks in me and I’m glad they did.

It’s been years and we were excited to eat here, I ordered a regular bbq sandwich. I was so disappointed. The meat was so greasy that my bun dissolved in it. I tried to absorb all I could with my napkins, but it was so saturated I couldn’t eat it. There was a lot of hard dry outer pieces. Maybe it had been sitting in the bottom in the pan. Not sure. The pickles were good.

Staff was very friendly. 8 had the brisket sandwich, Mac and cheese, and friend blackberry pie.
The food was okay, the Mac and cheese was mostly noodle and needed some seasoning. Brisket was reasonably good. Not to die for, but if you’re in the area and want to try a local spot it’s worth it.

Our first visit here was great. We felt very welcome and comfortable. We ordered the combination platter for the two of us at lunch.
The BBQ was delicious and the price was very reasonable for what we were given. The potato salad and Cole Slaw reminded us of what our Moms used to make. We had enough left over to have another meal for our dinner tonight.
It’s no surprise why everyone here in Prattville loves Fat Boy’s BBQ.
