From NY, wanted to go somewhere for lunch/ dinner. Decided Scranton was a good place to go… farr street tavern popped up on restaurants in Scranton PA.
Asked the family, and that’s where we went..
It was cold out, I asked to turn the outdoor heater on, the waitress had no problems with turning it on.. great atmosphere wonderful service. And Scranton,.. beautiful little city

This is easily becoming a favorite in our date rotation. The atmosphere is really beautiful with outdoor seating and live bands some days. They also have some daily specials, the mozzarella sticks and marinara are really yummy along with the wings, they were perfectly crisp also.
Farr street does get busy on certain days, so depending you might wait for a seat.
There’s street parking and a lot designated across the street from the restaurant.

We usually really enjoy the food here, so this was a disappointing experience. I ordered chicken tenders with what was listed online as thick cut brioche, and even paid extra for it. I also clarified at ordering that it was the sliced brioche shown on the chicken club, and was told yes. When we got home, it turned out to be a standard seedless bun, which wasn’t sweet and didn’t match what was advertised for the club.
When I called to ask about it, I was told that their brioche is only a bun and that the sliced bread option is Texas toast — which may be true, but that distinction isn’t clear online or at ordering. If the menu has changed, it would really help to update the listing so customers know exactly what they’re getting. I just wish expectations had been clearer, especially since I paid extra.

I havent got much to say as far as service since we ordered takeout, but the quality and value of the meal were disappointing. I’m not sure what the attraction is to “Smash Burgers”, but if flattened out, overcooked and dry is the goal, these guys nailed it. The menu claims all burgers are cooked to “mid well” (medium-well?) but these were well beyond that, dry and charred.
I also understand that prices are up, and you pay for ambience, but the cost of a plain cheeseburger and a side of fries was not worth the product delivered.

First time here, had a good experience. Skye the waitress was very attentive and came over to check on us multiple times. I had the chicken bacon ranch which I highly recommend trying. The loaded fries weren’t really loaded but the fries were good. My girlfriend had the BBQ pork Sammie and she enjoyed it but thought there could be less bbq sauce. Overall it was really good, food
was very flavorful. Good option for lunch. Will be back.

You Need To Know? Arrived at this quaint tavern on a friday night around 6:45. It was busy for sure but we were able to be seated immediately. The kitchen was pumping food out quickly & the team of waitresses worked very well together. There was was not a long wait at all for a capacity crowd. On this evening we had the Farr Burger which was a smash burger with beer cheese ,cheddar, smoked bacon & LTO. This was delicious. We also had the JBH which was an 8 0z smash burger with Cooper cheese, bacon, avocado, jalapeños, runny egg, & LTO. This burger may have been messy but it was gone in under 3 minutes. So flavorful. Then we had the chicken tavern tacos with smoked chicken, Chipotle bbq, green sauce & citrus slaw. Flavors were exploding. Our 4th dish was a chicken Caesar wrap with fries . This place is a MUST stop if your in the scranton area. Now You Know! -TBH

We ordered takeout. I specified the time to pick order up and when I got there at that time the food was cold. Boneless chicken bites were overcooked, dry & sauceless. Fish tasted like it was frozen “Gordon’s” (Looked nothing like the picture online), I also ordered and payed for extra tartar sauce and beer cheese sauce with the fries which I didn’t get. Farr St Burger was cold and meat was dry and didn’t come with the beer cheese or cheddar cheese I ordered. I also ordered and payed for my fries to be replaced with onion rings, which I didn’t get. It was also EXPENSIVE & I tipped! I’m a local and don’t normally complain but for the price, I expected much more!!
