And the ice cream was delicious!! I felt like I was taken back to the 50’s as we sat there and ate our ice cream! We will be going back there again!!

First time here and was super convenient downtown. Parking on the lot and off street so even when busy you can find a space. Kind of old school with the surroundings not super flashy but its not done in a bad way. The ice cream more than makes up for it. So many flavours, maybe 30-40 so there is something for everyone. Great creamy ice cream and the portions are really big so you wont be disappointed. Seats inside and out so heaps of space. Loved the ice cream and the atmosphere. Thankyou!

This was such a fun place to visit. They have an enormous selection of flavors that are delicious. Their best sellers are the licorice flavored ice cream as in black licorice and the Play-Doh ice cream, which is rainbow colored. I thought that the cookie dough brownie was a delicious new twist on Those flavors. It’s a lot of fun shopping the retro toy section. Amazing atmosphere. The staff is super kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

Farr Better Ice Cream in Ogden, Utah is truly a local treasure and a must-visit for anyone passing through Northern Utah. This family-owned ice cream shop has been serving up smiles and scoops since 1920, and stepping inside feels like stepping back in time—in the best way possible.
The interior is styled like an old-fashioned soda shop, complete with a striped awning counter, retro seating, and vintage candy and games that spark nostalgia for adults and curiosity in kids. They even have a charming historic ice delivery cart on display and shelves lined with classic puzzles and old-school toys—making it as much a mini-museum as it is an ice cream stop!
But the real star here is the ice cream—rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. Farr’s is known for creating unique, high-quality flavors like:
• Play Dough – a fun, colorful hit with kids
• Brownies on the Moon – chocolate lovers, this one’s for you!
• Wildcat Wripple – a local favorite honoring Weber State University
• Huckleberry – sweet, tart, and bursting with flavor
Whether you’re trying a new flavor or reliving your childhood favorites, you can truly taste the care and tradition in every bite. With millions of scoops served over the past century, it’s easy to see why Farr’s has become such a beloved part of the community.
Come for the ice cream, stay for the history—and don’t forget to take a photo under the iconic neon Farr Better Ice Cream sign! This place is more than a dessert stop—it’s a legacy worth celebrating.

Oooh… Ice Cream! My 4th time visiting Farr Better Ice Cream. I planned my whole return trip from Huntington Beach to Hinton Alberta just so I can stop in for ice cream. Two times before I just jumped in my car in Hinton and drove 2 long days for a bowl of this ice Cream. If you are in the area why wouldn’t you stop in? The service, taste, flavors and different styles (Cone, banana split, sundae etc.) If you read this Farr Better Ice Cream please don’t threaten me with a free sundae and make me drive back down there haha.

Like stepping back in time! Feels like an old ice cream/soda shop you see in the movies. Tons, and I mean tons of delicious ice cream flavors available. The single scoop is HUGE! And the prices are absolutely phenomenal. This place is a really awesome spot to grab some delicious treats and travel into the past. We’re coming back for sure!

Quick and yummy ice cream! Stopped here to get a sweet treat and wasn’t disappointed! They had loads of flavors to choose from! Got the double scoop waffle cone! Place was clean and the staff were friendly! Only issue was there isn’t a lot of parking spots! If you come while it is busy either you have to wait for a spot to open up if they are all taken, or park down the road and walk to get your ice cream! They are also doing construction by the light so you can only turn left into there facility, unfortunately the employees don’t know when it would be done, hopefully soon! Will be coming back!

Pulling up there was limited parking, it was a struggle finding a spot to park. After that the inside was a fun retro 50s theme. A lot of the chairs were missing chunks though and run down looking. There was a lack of structure upon ordering and checking out. Everyone seemed to form a line at the register to order ice cream, but others would walk in to the counter and they’d get their order taken first. Very frustrating to stand in a line and be the one waiting as new people walk in and get their order taken first. I asked them to describe to me what the Caramel Caribou, the lady told me it is vanilla ice cream with caramel and walnuts. I took a bite and it didn’t have ANY nuts, no caramel, and was just vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips. I ordered my ice cream in a waffle cone to which she gave it to me in a cup. When I told her I had ordered it in a waffle cone she said “Oh, sorry” and then plopped a waffle cone on top of the ice cream in a cup. That is significantly less ice cream than what I ordered and was really frustrating to not get what I ordered or was told. Then to not fix my order and just plopping a cone on it and calling it good was not quality service. Very disappointed in the taste, price, quality, poor service, and poor management. Staff kept asking us waiting in line to move so they could get from behind the counter leaving nobody behind the counter taking orders for at least 5-10 minutes. Not worth it for ANY reason.
