Can’t get enough of this place! The selections are curated, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. While yes, they carry upscale products, they also carry some weekday-type wines and totally affordable and great cheeses. Dave, the owner, and Daniel, the cheese buyer, are both awesome. They recently helped me get a vegan Gruyere for my friend…how cool is that?
Also: this is a PERFECT place to get a nice gift.

It’s a perfect local wine & cheese shop. My husband and I enjoy going there Fridays for wine tasting. After, we’ll pick up our fish (from Sea Forager), fresh delicious bread (Fri/Sat), and cheese. For a small shop, they have a wide selection of cheese, chocolate, and other items. One time, I picked up flat bread from Sardinia, which timed perfectly with a Sardinian themed dinner party. Their staff are also friendly and knowledgeable.

Farmstead was great! They prepared and delivered a lovely cheese plate, as a gift to a friend. They were able to customize it as we requested no meat, and they substituted in other cheese/fruit. They handled it all really well, coordinating the delivery while we were out of town. We’re so grateful! (As a bonus, we were glad to support a local business instead of an internet behemoth.)

Great customer service! Shout out to Nuala, who provided a great experience for us. We arrived at the Montclair shop, which has an amazing selection of wine and cheese. Unfortunately, the gift cards we had weren’t working, as they’d recently switched over to a new system. I thought we were going to have to come back another time, but they thought of a creative solution.
To make up for it, they let us pick our selection (with a nice discount) and hand-delivered our products to us at our apartment in San Francisco the next day (once they sorted out the Gift Card issue).
