As a new California resident, I’ve been loving the experience of exploring so many new restaurants across San Francisco and the Bay Area. I tried Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine for a weekend lunch, and overall, it was a great experience.

We started with Thai tea, which tasted good, but the giant ice ball added mainly for presentation was a bit of a mood killer–it looked nice but diluted the drink quickly.

The crispy egg rolls were delicious–perfectly crispy and flavorful, a great way to start the meal.

We also ordered chicken tom kha. It was very tasty, with big pieces of chicken and vegetables, but it felt more like a stir fry than a soup. I personally wished it had a bit more soup

For the mains, we ordered the chicken red curry with blue jasmine rice. The curry itself was absolutely delightful–rich, comforting, and full of flavor. However, the blue jasmine rice didn’t really add anything to the taste. It looks great for Instagram shots, but you can easily skip it and stick to regular white rice.

We also ordered the Thai fried rice, which was a total flavor bomb–so good that I actually forgot to take a photo of it!

Their Mother’s Sauce deserves a special mention–it’s incredibly delicious but very spicy, so be careful if you can’t handle the heat.

The ambience is very cute, and the service was fast, making the overall experience enjoyable.

Definitely going back–there’s still so much on the menu to try!

Delicious food, great vibes, and fun, friendly servers, it’s all there. The staff went out of their way to recommend some of their appetizers, which were incredible, crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Every dish we tried had a perfect balance of flavors, from savory to spicy, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. The curries were rich and comforting, the noodles had just the right texture, and the fresh herbs really elevated each dish. On top of that, the decor is playful and visually striking, making it a fun spot for photos as well. Between the flavorful food, welcoming service, and cool atmosphere, it’s definitely a place I’d recommend checking out.

This restaurant is hyped. The food is authentic and beautifully presented but if you are interested in authentic Thai food, there are less pricier ans less pretentious places you can go to. This restaurant is designed like a gaudy and over-the-top Thai wedding hall. The tables are too close to each other for comfort. If I am paying $50 approx for each dish, I would like some comfortable seating room where I am not within 1 foot of another table. The music is too loud. Add the cacaphony of conversations with tables too close to each other, you can barely have a decent conversation. While the presentation of the food is elegant, the service is rushed. The servers hover over you expecting you to finish your meal quickly and leave. If you want to savour good Thai food, go elsewhere. If you want drama with your food, visit this one.

This isn’t tampered down Thai food! I enjoyed our meal so much; the meat dishes are cooked and seasoned and spiced to perfection. We didn’t celebrate anything while we were there but we witnessed two birthdays: if you want a fun celebration experience, you should go there, it’s loud and vibrant! When I travel back to SF, I’m definitely coming back.

Farmhouse Kitchen in the Mission District is a dependable option for a casual date night if you’re craving Thai food. We were able to walk in and get a table without a reservation on a weeknight. We shared the samosas with a dipping sauce, and I ordered my go-to Pad Thai with prawns. It satisfied the craving.

A wonderful place with amazing food! A bit pricey for Thai but you get more than your money’s worth. We started with the coconut flavored soup added chicken – honestly that fish alone can feed two hungry people! The beef was absolutely tender fall off the bone. The egg rolls had such a unique flavor. And all the currys were great and generous proportions.

This was honestly the worst experience I’ve had here. The restaurant has gone downhill and I can no longer recommend it.

My partner and I came to celebrate a holiday and arrived around 4:30pm. The place was empty, and we chose to sit outside. Service started quickly, but the table was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.

We ordered two iced Thai teas ($6.50 each). The flavor was just average. I also asked the server for two cups of water, but she completely ignored me. Later, someone just brought me a cup of ice instead—so frustrating, especially since it was really hot outside. The outdoor tables, tablecloths, and chairs all felt worn out and uncomfortable.

For food, we ordered two dishes. The first was their new Burmese Lobster Noodles. It came with half a lobster—but no claw, and the lobster itself was dry, tough, and definitely not fresh. It was honestly inedible. The second dish was the Beef Cup Noodles. It was spicy and tasted okay, but for $39, it felt like a rip-off.

In total, for just two dishes and two drinks, the bill came out to $115 before tip. They even added an extra “SF mandate tax.” Three years ago, I had good experiences here, but after this visit, I won’t be coming back.

this is definitely the best thai food that I’ve ever tried! The spicy noodles is really delicious and hot! The taste of Thai iced tea is super close to native one. We really have a good experience.

We were meeting family after a long time and chose this restaurant.. but guess what .. THEY SERVED CHICKEN IN A VEGETARIAN DISH . These kind of mistakes are not acceptable. Really disappointed and disheartening . Had a really bad day . 20th November around 8:30pm .

Stepping into Farmhouse, you’re instantly immersed in a feast for the senses. The décor is bold and maximalist neon lights, lush floral displays, and tropical accents create a lively, playful atmosphere. The cocktails are true centerpieces, often served in ornate, whimsical vessels that make the experience as fun as it is flavorful. The staff add to the charm with their warm and welcoming service.
