Positives of the cafe- The squeaky door opening, and the locals chattering about the day. Tables spaced nicely. The salad was tasty and had great tomatoes! Hamburger steak itself was good, but the packaged brown gravy ruined it.
Challenging review day and hope this was a fluke. Like typical cook being on vacation. Because, fair to say I realized very quickly this place doesn’t have the developed talent of preparing fresh ingredient meals past their salad. Packaged brown gravy, canned corn, metallic tasting fake potatoes, box mix cake and Betty Crocker icing.
If I were to go back, this is how I would order- would bypass any mashed potatoes item and get the French fries. Just have the hamburger steak without the gravy add the tabled salt and pepper. Texas toast on the side.
Positive feedback: Homemade cafe food takes a lot of practice and it would be so worth learning! ✅. I encourage the cook to broaden their skills and I guarantee it would be more profitable and the customers will flock back for the effort. Don’t give up, just build upon the menu one dish at a time! Best of luck!

If you are from out of town do not stop here to eat. We were not greeted. The server ignored us completely for 10 minutes as she got another table drinks, then ordered. When she came up to the table she so rudely said” we are not serving breakfast”. When my 7 year old grandson asked for cherry Pepsi her response was no. Didn’t give any other option just looked at him like he was stupid. Horrible experience

I have no idea what the food is like, as the establishment was closed at 9am on a Monday. That’s no reflection on the restaurant , only on their published hours. I asked a couple of locals at the truck stop a short distance away, and they laughed. “When it’s open, it’s open, and I guess they’re fine,” one said. The other pointed me to a tacqueria Id passed and said 1) the tacqueria was open, and 2) they served breakfast. But that’s another review altogether.

Our family of 5 has been traveling for well over a week, and we found this little place on the way back home. Very little Cafe off to the side of the road, but Oh goodness! If you are ever passing through Boise City Oklahoma, stop in! We all 5 got different meals, chicken wrap with beans and rice, chips/salsa, chicken strips with fries and gravy, bacon cheeseburger with fries, cheeseburger with fries, and I got a chicken fried steak with gravy and tater tots, and 2 house salads. 10/10 Food, 10/10 Best waitress EVER, coffee is perfection as well!
