Service was, unfortunately, slow. We ordered at around 9:45am, waiting only about 10 minutes in line, but took nearly an hour to get our coffee. While we were enjoying the views and company, this is a really long time to wait for coffee. The coffee was good, but isn’t worth the hour wait.
The owner was super apologetic about the wait – which I definitely appreciate, but I think service may need to run differently to accommodate the volume of people they are getting.
I think taking orders while getting a backlog of drinks caused for a really long wait for the people that have already ordered. If they can do 2-3 orders at a time, pausing before taking the next order might speed up the process and cause for a shorter wait for those that have already ordered. It’s one thing to have to wait in line to order – you expect a longer wait, but once it’s ordered, most people expect a shorter wait, maybe 15-20 minutes, not an hour. I also think there should be some food available, even if it’s pre-made or pre-packaged muffins or pastries.
I know they are still working out kinks and their process and hope it can eventually become a good hangout spot with expectional service and coffee.
We were able to feed the cows treats and pet them, great place to bring your kids and hang out!
The deck overlooks the most beautiful lake, and somehow every time I go, the view feels different. Between the peaceful water, the Highland cows grazing (yes… you can feed them ), and the calm atmosphere, it’s more than just grabbing coffee…it’s an experience.
The coffee is always delicious, and the staff makes you feel like you’re visiting family. You’re not just a customer here. Every visit feels special, and no two visits are ever the same. I can’t recommend this place enough.
The times I visited weren’t incredibly busy, maybe a handful of people and I didn’t wait more than a few minutes for coffee. I’m a little disappointed in some of the negative feedback. This is a new business, it’s a learning experience and we need to have a little grace. And if you plan to feed the cows you can’t fault the owners for the cows not wanting treats, come on guys. Kate even gave us a heads up that if they didn’t come over to us they may be full so we didn’t waste money on treats. I genuinely can’t think of anything they can do to improve besides letting us be in the pasture with the coo’s Thank you guys for bringing such a wonderful experience to Fort Meade, wishing you the best of luck in this venture!
