Home of the five-star Farmburger, the Farm Cafe serves up made-to-order, homestyle burgers, sandwiches, chicken pot pies, egg sandwiches, fruit pies, and more made with ingredients grown on the surrounding farm. We also sell eggs from our own chickens and honey from our own bees. The Farm Cafe is part of the Abram Demaree Homestead, and all proceeds go toward maintaining our nonprofit historic site and farm.

I liked the place very much, and my wife as well.
Very clean and nice looking place for a farm.
My fried chicken sandwich was very good. Not salty, and fresh tomatoes and lettuce.
My wife likes the bacon, eggs and cheese sandwich (breakfast sandwich) a lot.
Prices are acceptable and people are friendly.
We can walk around the property and see the chickens. Also, the green area and farm life.
Breathing the quiet nature and breeze is so nice that you may think you are in PA.
I definitely recommend it.
I’ll be back.
Alternative options available, like pot pie, desserts, etc.
Eat indoors, or under the umbrella of their tables outdoors. If the weather is right, I’d pick outdoor eating.
Plentiful parking.
Friendly staff. They also brought our ordered food outside once it was ready.
Back to the review… Nice local business, good burgers good fries, nice atmosphere, historic location, fun place to eat, super friendly employees. …But way overpriced, should be $9 for burger fries and drink, not $15 for burger and fries (no drink).
While waiting for your meal you can view and read about some of the history of Closter and NJ from the Revolutionary war including the Closter Horseman who saved Washingtons army from the British.
Farm burger appears to be a normal frozen patty from the grocery store since it has a very unique and well known patty shape with sharp edges and meat was hard packed. It’s Bubba’s Frozen Burger patties! Take a look online or buy some from the grocery store and you will instantly recognize the patty shape frozen and cooked. This resulted in an ok flavor but the meat was dry, tough from being compacted, and left a dry texture in my mouth. Not juicy at all. The fries are good, not amazing. They are short stick fries, slightly thicker than regular fast food fries but with the same seasoning as twister fries. Red Robin burgers are still the best and their steak fries are also the best too.
Pricing is too high at roughly $15 per person for a burger and fries and no drink. Would be better if they had a meal combo including burger, fries and drink at a cheaper price around $10.
In October you can pick your own pumpkins in their large pumpkin patch.
Lots of fresh made desserts and good drink selection too.
They harvest fresh honey here.
Parking is free and plenty since it’s never too busy. It is unpaved and just loose rock fill, so drive slow to avoid kicking up pebbles that may scratch your car paint.
Anytime I’m treasure hunting up this way I plan my meals around this place. There’s always a yard sale going on in the surrounding neighborhoods, (typically in the morning) across the street is a great antique market, and down the street is the habitat for humanity restore, and around the corner of that is a thrift store that supports cats.
