Far East Restaurant delivers a comforting dim sum experience with flavors that make you forget you’re not getting the classic aunty-with-the-cart treatment. The variety is delicious, especially the snow pea leaves, fresh, tender, and cooked with that perfect wok-hei. Most of the dim sum dishes hit the spot and feel thoughtfully made. The only miss was the roast pork bun, which didn’t quite match the quality of the rest. Still, the overall meal was satisfying and worth the visit, especially if you’re craving a solid dim sum fix without the weekend cart chaos.

We had our 100-person wedding reception on the 2nd floor in August and it was amazing. We’d eaten here several times, so we knew the food would be great, but the amount of food was phenomenal. Pricilla, Justin, the waitstaff, and the owner were all beyond kind and accommodating with our drink selection, event setup, random questions, etc. and they’ve remembered us each time we’ve come in for dinner/dim sum since then. We’re customers for life!

Got the chicken and broccoli, chicken lo mein, and Mongolian beef. Prices lean more towards the pricey end ($23+), but they give you quite a bit of food. There was option for dim sum, but it didn’t appeal to me at the time. They provided hot tea with the meal, which I appreciated.

The food can be slightly greasy, but tasted good. The lo mein had an interesting aroma to it, but maybe next time it won’t have that. It reminded me of a hot burned stove, haha. The Mongolian beef was good, but the quality of the meat could be slightly better though felt better than most.

Stopped by Far East Restaurant for dim sum recently and was so happy to see dine-in seating fully back again after COVID — it really brings back the classic dim sum experience.

We arrived right when they opened around 11 AM on a weekend and were seated immediately since it wasn’t too busy yet. One thing to note is that the entire party needs to be present before being seated, which they enforce, but it helps keep things moving smoothly once you’re inside.

The service felt traditional and efficient, with attentive push carts circulating constantly, making it easy to see what’s fresh and grab dishes as they come by. The staff were also accommodating with a baby seat, which made the visit comfortable for families.

The steamed cart is always my favorite, and Far East does it well. Standouts for me were the shrimp rice crepe (silky and delicate), shrimp dumplings (har gow) with plump, juicy filling, and the steamed ribs, which were tender and flavorful. The chicken feet and tripe were also well prepared — classic dim sum staples done right.

I also loved the sticky rice, which was fragrant and satisfying, along with two must-order bakery items: the pineapple buns and egg tarts. Both were fresh and comforting, with the egg tarts having that perfect balance of flaky crust and smooth custard.

Overall, Far East delivers a solid, traditional dim sum experience — lively carts, reliable favorites, and a welcoming environment for groups and families. Great spot to gather, share dishes, and enjoy a relaxed weekend dim sum meal. Definitely glad to have seating back again.

Excellent reasonable lunch menu!
Busy times are loud.
The Dim sum selection is huge!
Service could be better, wrong dish was served. Had to ask for tea and water twice. Still only served half way through the meal. Chop sticks were rudely taken away (we are not Chinese) when we were seated. We had to ask for them when the meal came.

The restaurant is really huge and we never wait to seated. The food is delicious and the amount of food is really worthy in comparison with the price!

Visited for dim sum for the first time today. There was no wait at 11am on a Sunday, perhaps the nice spring weather today kept people away and outside. Shrimp dumplings, pork buns, egg tarts, broccoli with oyster sauce, fried squid, pork fried rice, sesame balls were all good. Service was fast and friendly, environment was clean and pleasant. For a family of four the bill was $100 and we left very full. Would come back.

Upon arrival I waited about 5 minutes before anyone came over. They asked if I was there for pick up even though there is a separate entrance for pick up. Additionally it was a full hour before they closed. I was excited to try this place for the first time. I ordered the orange chicken w white meat, the mandarin lo mein no shrimp , & the mandarin fried rice no shrimp. The orange chicken was by far the best dish. The lo mein was normal, nothing exceptional. The fried rice however was bland and not flavorful even for such a simple dish. I mentioned to the manager that it was not to my liking so he insisted on remaking it. That would have been well received if the remainder of the interaction with staff had remained positive. In a time where technology capacity has increased exponentially, simple respect for a customer (and their experience) in any language (especially if you think they can not understand) should go without saying. Regretfully, my search for a great Chinese restaurant in the area continues.

Used to be a loyal fan of their dim sum, and today we had dinner here for the first time. Sadly, it is unbelievably disappointing.

At first, the waiter told us shrimp dumplings and shui mai are the only dim sum choices, even it’s off the menu with no price listed, we still ordered out of trust. However, minutes later the table across us started to have full access to dim sum on top of those two, at least they happily had their three fresh durian rolls. Feeling confused but the food is ok so we didn’t complain much, until we saw the bill charged $12 for six shrimp dumplings and $12 for six shui mai. For the record, in brunch/dim sum time, you can get four shrimp dumplings for $6.25 and four shui mai for $5.75.It a 33% to 50% price inflation targeting us, while the other table still got the dim sum size dish for the normal dim sum price. It’s quite unfair and makes us frustrated and helpless.

Unfortunately that’s not the end of the story. Expecting to have authentic Chinese food, we added another dish, pork Chung king, which has Chinese name as 回锅肉. The first picture is what we got today, it’s oil fried pork with cabbage, using sweet sauce. The second picture is what 回锅肉 looks like, it’s sliced boiled pork, no frying, cooking again with leek or garlic sprouts, using spicy sauce and doubanjiang. I am not a chief, just nobody from Sichuan, and this dish is my comfort food when I missed home, but today it makes me even more homesick. The English name actually make more sense but sadly I read Chinese, so all I want is just picture 2. I thought it’s someone else’s food at first but got confirmed it is 回锅肉… was shocked and speechless until walking out of the door.

学了这么久价格歧视终于轮到我体验了 体验很好不会有下次了 如果老板focus在做美式中餐的话完全支持 但可以取个更朗朗上口的中文吧 要不取个锅包肉也比回锅肉强啊

Really happy they renovated the interior of the restaurant when they reopened awhile back, It needed the refresh. We’ve been coming here since I was a kid and the restaurant was located in the strip shopping plaza next door. We’ve had many private party functions upstairs when Stanley was the manager.

These days we dine here mainly for their dim sum. It opens at 11 AM on Saturdays and 10:30 AM on Sundays. Get there early to avoid the wait. It’s not as large as China Garden and New Fortune so you will have to wait if you come 15 minutes after opening. Can’t go wrong with any of the dim sum offerings.
