I am a Minneapolis transplant here in Grand Forks for school and I miss all the food options I used to have down in the cities. But I am not exaggerating when I say I love Far East Buffet! It is a quality little buffet with good food. I went there on a weekend and there were at least 5 different seafood options, which was surprising. I ate all of them and they were all tasty! They had crawfish, clams, mussels, fish, and at least 3 different kinds of shrimp. The place was very clean and well kept. Also, the drink is included with your meal, so you get unlimited pop: all for about $13. Seriously such a good deal. Cannot be beat. Writing this review is making me hungry. Two thumbs up, can’t wait to go back!

I had heard bad things about this place but decided to get my own view. I was not disappointed. I got the chicken fried rice to go and it was amazing. ONE of the best I’ve eaten in ND, LA, AZ, NC & FL. The staff was friendly and helpful. I WILL ABSOLUTELY BE BACK.

Food tastes good, ice-cream was not hard to scoop like other buffet and taste was good too. But for desserts there was no mousse/ cake which I really enjoy.

My wife and I found this when we did a Google search for buffets. When we arrived there was not a single vehicle in the parking lot. It was 5:30 pm so we thought the Far East Buffet was closed. We noticed the open sign before we got turned around so we went in and ate. We were sure glad we did. The food was very fresh, hot and very good. I always take small amounts to start with so I don’t have a lot to eat of something I am not fond of. I tried a lot of entrees and I enjoyed them all. Seldom do I find a buffet where I like everything. I rated this buffet a 5 star because a 3.8 out of 5 was a ridiculously low rating IMHO. Also the self serve fountain drinks were included in the $14.00 cost for the dinner price.

Used to be one of my favorite places to eat in 2007. Closes on the 29th this month and I think that’s a good thing, workers don’t seem happy and don’t even try to have a conversation and seem irritated that they even have to go tell someone what’s needed to be put out. This restaurant went downhill for sure and it’s very sad. I hope whatever’s going on with the building has better luck

Went on Thursday night and were really excited to try as we love Chinese and were hoping for another choice besides Panda(no slam). The waitress didn’t address us, but pointed to a table. We sat down having never been there and watched others to know that we were supposed to get our own drinks, not a big deal. Went to get food and there were few options, all of which were either crusty or swimming in sauce. We both got a partial plate and went to eat. Nothing was hot, luke warm at best. Little to no taste on any of it, neither of us could finish. Ended up being $14/person for absolutely awful food. Would NOT recommend!

The hot and sour soup was thick like syrup and had little flavor. Mongolian pork and the fried shrimp were good and the egg foo Yung patties with gravy weren’t the worst. Well maintained soda machine with proper carbonation. Went for lunch and stuff was picked over pretty well and what was left was kinda cold.

I usually said good things about the places that I visit but about this one I can’t said something good at all. Cold food, no variety, too salty , salad bar only lettuce I can believe it. Very poor service. I was my self at the time in the restaurant and there is tables with plates from others customers and never clean it up while I was at the restaurant.

Absolutely delicious!! I got a to go box of amazing lunch today. The sweet and sour chicken was perfectly crispy. The cream cheese wontons are crispy delicious. The noodles and pepper chicken were also great. Overall wonderful buffet, clean restaurant and friendly employees.
