Great reviews from the whole family.
Surprised at how much we enjoyed the place. The Cardinal pizza was delicious.
The 14yo ate a whole pepperoni pizza.

The picky 5 year old declared “This is the best (cheese) pizza I’ve ever had, better than Pagliacci’s.” He even at all the crust.

The Arnold Palmer here may be the best in the world.

Very delicious! Best pizza I have had in years. The sandwich was also hearty and tasty. Hidden town gem.

My recommendation for eating here: order a pasta and a pizza for two people to share. You’ll likely receive them at different times and because your food won’t come out simultaneously, you won’t sit bored or hungry. For more info, read on:

I had to try this restaurant after seeing their ratings. We showed up at 6:45 to eat and there was only a few tables of people inside. We ordered an appetizer, I ordered the meatball sandwich, my wife ordered pesto pasta, and my kids ordered pizzas. Approx 50 minutes later, my wife’s pasta came out but nothing else. I asked about our food to the young girl that was our waitress and I was told “it’s coming… our drive through is busy”.
20 minutes later the pizzas came out, followed by my meatball sandwich, which is really a half a calzone. We still didn’t have our appetizer yet. Another lady came by and explained that they have two kitchen lines making food, so things don’t come out at the same time. The food is created fresh, which you can taste, I like that they use a variety of old china plates, and this could be a good place for a date night. But my kids were starving and the wait was definitely excessive.

Fancy Pizzeria is our favorite pizza place in the Gila Valley! Ben has done such a good job setting up this shop. The location is quaint, but do not let that fool you. After the remodel, the new space is great. The food is super fresh and prepared artistically. From the first bite, you will note the quality of the food. The pizza crusts from a fresh dough are so tasty. The sauce has the sweet taste of perfectly ripened tomatoes. The cheese is likely fresh and tasty. Portions are generous and a good value for the money. We like to get the Margarita pizza and the Italian Chopped Salad and then whatever the fresh cookie is! Do NOT miss out on the pastas! And the grilled cheese with tomato soup, literally changed my life.
We love all of the pastas and other creations Ben has prepared for us. We have never been disappointed, and they always exceed expectations.
We go here regularly and do not plan on slowing down. We go dine in and take out orders and love it both ways!

I have to add updated information. Ben has done many new and great improvements to his restaurant. The addition of steak is a game changer. The quality of the meat, attention to preparation and presentation have given Safford a great blessing. This steak is seriously one of the best I have had anywhere in Arizona. You HAVE to try this steak.

I stayed in safford for work and wanted to try out the local eateries in town. This came highly rated for its Neapolitan style pizza. I was skeptical about it at first but was indeed surprised by the quality of ingredients and the love and care that went into making it.

I ordered a Margarita pizza which is the pinnacle of pizza making. This one pizza highlights the best ingredients with the fewest added on. It really shows how the pizza maker shows his craft. It was undoubtedly, the best pizza I ever had in that town while I stayed there for three weeks.

If you stop I’m between 11am-2pm they offer a great lunch special which I highly recommend. Photo with the salad and pizza is their lunch special. However, the caprese salad is a bit extra for that option of salad. It also comes with whatever drink you’d like. I got a orange (mandarin) jarritos :).

This restaurant has pizza made in a genuine large pizza oven delivered from Italy. The pizza is as good as a pizza gets. The sandwiches are large and delicious. I have been several times and am always pleasantly surprised about the quality of food. The owner / Chef reminds me of the old days when people cared and were friendly. He’s as nice and genuine as a person can be. If you’re in Safford or looking to take a road trip for some great food. Stop at Fancy’s. Bring an appetite or a friend to share with. It’s not a chain which is big in my book!

This is my third attempt but I just don’t love it. Safford has few choices of possible foodie options. I tried very hard but for the prices it doesn’t live up to the Fancy. The pasta is boiled unsalted noodles. Tastes like boiled flour. The sauce was fine when served as a side but when mixed with the pasta (as it is served) the sauce becomes watery and bland.

I wish I could say I felt good about paying the prices but it’s overconfident. I always end up wanting to go and make a better version at home for far less. These towns primarily serving mining families always have something of a cash grab and it’s hard not to feel it here.

It’s good for Safford I suppose but I never feel good about paying the prices versus the quality of food.

Something is off, everyone has a bad night. Three for me aren’t a charm.

How hard is good pasta to make at an Italian restaurant?

The pizza’s – don’t get me started. Cha – Ching.

My wife and I split a Margherita pizza and the seasonal butternut squash goat cheese salad. Both were incredible, but the salad was out of this world good. The staff was so friendly and prompt. Great service. Great food. 10/10 recommend.
