In my time there it seems to be known as a takeout spot. It had customers, but they were ordering to go. Possibly because there isn’t a whole lot of seating. All good, we could choose anywhere in sit!
I’d love to come back to have their other offerings. Overall, I really liked this place! I think it’s a 10/10 for me! Added to my favorites on the map!
It’s very rare I give a 5, but Isaac’s Cafe is definitely deserving. Everything on the menu is amazing and the portions are huge. The best Green Chile in all of Los Angeles. The Red Chile is like nothing I’ve tasted! Their wet burritos are fire. Even the chips and dip is delicious. The longshoremen in San Pedro have a gem in Isaac’s! They brought me out a sample plate of all their meats to taste. Isaac’s put Ramona’s to shame.
I know my pork when it comes to food. It’s a huge part of my cultural heritage in recipes so when I get to pork that is well-done, it gets all the respect it deserves. Isaac told us he cooks his Mom’s recipes, although some of the recipes he must have fine-tuned, and it shows. The green chili or the red chili pork both are AMAzing, in all my travels, my lists of standout meat dishes, the pork is the shortest because I am so picky. Isaac’s pork is on my list and underlined!
Isaac’s food is like a homecooked family meal. Eat it in a restaurant, or in my car, or in my hotel room (as I’ve taken some to go, I sure did!) and it’s giving me a craving it’s so good. And a little is coming on the plane with me.
The location is clean!
Staff is friendly!
This original founder of this restaurant was.. Antonia Medina she was born in San Pedro, California, on February 12 1927, and grew up in Tijuana and Zacatecas.
Since 1977, this restaurant has been serving the longshoreman community and Wilmington residents. The chile verde and chile rojo recipe was passed down to her from her grandmother and mother.
I tried the Dispatch Bacon Burrito, and it was I will definitely return to try the chile verde and chile rojo plates !!!
