This place is big. However, not too many people eating inside. We were there around 6:30 pm on Friday night and barely anyone inside. We ordered a sampler plate and a bunch of stuff in it, a salad, a beer, and a coke and it comes out to be about $54.
The food was kind of dry and feels like eating cardboard even with the sauce drenched in it. The fries were great and very unique. A bit oily but good. The environment is kind of cool with a farm like feel to it. Lots of seating areas and a bar for those who like to get a few beers.
Not sure if because of the amount of traffic is slow so the food is not too good or because the food is not too good that’s why they don’t have a lot of people. Or maybe too greasy for all the healthy eaters in California.

I ordered appetizer rib tips they did not look like what I normally get, they were cut like ribs but no bones, I thought they just did not cut them up.
I ate the fries which were great but they do not give you a lot of fries like Gilroy Dave’s did.
The rib tips were mostly fat in just 3 pieces I ate there I left a plate of fat like this picture below, it was more fat than meat.
I brought the other half home which was 3 pieces and it was just as fatty more fat than meat see the picture below for the other 3 pieces I got and brought home.
I took a picture of the fat I got on 3 pieces more fat than meat on the rib tips and that’s only the fat I could get off them.
Not sure I’ll go back to Dave’s in San Jose too bad.
I loved the Dave’s in Gilroy but they closed down. The Dave’s in Gilroy served a lot and gave you meaty rib tips, and a lot of fries. I’m not paying high prices for a plate with more fat than meat and not much of a side.

Ordered online for a subtotal of $68 for burnt ends, rib and meat combo, with sides mac & cheese, potato salad, and an extra add on of mashed potatoes. The add on was six dollars for something the size of a Baskin Robins kids scoop. Corn bread was buttery, soft, and tasted like white sheet cake. Corn bread is supposed to be moist but crumby. The slab of bread is the type of cheap white bread you buy with SNAP benefits and was not toasted or buttered at all. Potato wedges were hard, which indicates it was frozen and not fresh. Meat was delicious, with the pork ribs being the best, followed by the burnt ends, and lastly the brisket, which had a lot of fat but was not evenly spread out, so you would either have a mouthful of fat or bite into stale, dry meat. However, see the image for the portion size. The size of this meal has a value of $35 dollars at best, and maybe $40 if pushing it. This serving size was barely enough for my wife and I, and we are skinny legends who ate easily blown away by the lightest gusts of wind. Overall, the meat was tasty but average, but not worth the price and the measly ration of a WW2 soldier.

First time trying it, and not bad. Service was kind of slow, but maybe they were short staffed? Food was great except for the mozzarella sticks that were cold and the potato salad that tasted like walmart’s brand. They offer a great variety of food items. Restaurant was clean and good atmosphere overall.

I went to Famous Dave’s for the first time for lunch. The place was huge but empty. The food prices were extremely high for mediocre food. I was expecting larger portion sizes. Luckily, I wasn’t too hungry and I was there with a guest. I remained as positive as possible until service staff mentioned that there machine may not take apple pay. I only had my electronic wallet so that was a fun situation which involved calling a friend. From start to end it felt like I took a time machine to eat at a stale office space with awkward decor back in time to decade without the advancement of technology.

This place is great! We loved the pulled pork, the tri tip, the corn bread and pretty much everything we had for lunch and dessert. The lemon pie is probably one of the best we have tried.
They gave us the kids menus which are like crowns to wear but piggy shaped, and with activities on the back, so it’s fun for the kids.
Restrooms are clean and the decoration all over the place is so neat, not like other country rustic style restaurants where tends to seem dirty.
The manager and all the staff were very kind as well. We will be back for sure.
