Enjoyed Breakfast for Dinner on a Monday evening at the Famous A’s 460 location. Everything was perfect! The service was exacting, coffee hot and delicious, fried eggs perfectly cooked with runny yolks, bacon was crispy, and the buttered rye toast was so tasty..but the standout was the hash browns! They were very hot, pillowy inside and so light and crispy outside..and not greasy at all. Asked for onions, and they were there, but I could tell they were just mixed in with the potatoes and not cooked together, so the potatoes did not have that light onion flavor…but they were still excellent. My dining mate ordered the same breakfast and loved it as much as I did! I wish Famous A’s would serve breakfast all day long, as it is a delicious speciality!
An earlier date 2025:
We were seated immediately, but it took awhile for us to order, because everything we chose did not come as we thought. No gravy for the chopped steak, no eggs with the pancakes etc. Our waitstaff was exceptional and kept checking back regularly to take our order. We finally settled on entrees of a burger and grilled shrimp. Our coffee was regularly refreshed, and the service was exceptional. The shrimp was deemed delicious, but the coleslaw seemed fresh, but the dressing tasted “off” or old. Both entrees came with fries and they were delicious light pillows of fluffy potatoes with a crispy outside!
The burger bun and all the additions (lettuce, tomato etc) were fresh, but the burger was a thin shoeleather of flavorless overcooked meat. I should have guessed when I was not asked how I wanted my burger cooked, as it was so thin it could not be cooked any other way except well- well done! See photo.
Overall my dining mate was pleased, but I was disappointed in the food. The atmosphere was comfortable and festive with decorations. Service was prompt and waitstaff was attentive and friendly.

The service was great. If you decide to go ask for either Lisa or Sasha. The food however not so much. I’ve been in the bathroom since I got home. I asked for bacon and you can see what I got from the picture. The food has gotten worse each time I’ve been there. The owner has pretty much given up on doing anything to improve. A visit from the Health Department may be in order.

I think this is the last FA I will patron. It’s so bad and gets worse with each trip. I debated even writing this review. Nothing here was good. At all. The food for all three of us was horrid. When we complained we were told that it was made to the menu. Cmon! It was trash. We didn’t even eat it. The fries were barely cooked. My buffalo wrap literally had 4 small pieces if chicken in it. And the staff. OMG. Nice but the server just sat us, and asked if we were ready. NO ma’am. Need to look at the menu for a sec. Then she just stood there. Book open, and pen in hand. Staring impatiently at us. It was so uncomfortable that we all just ordered something to make her leave. Then she brings the food and a vacuum and starts vacuuming around our table WHILE WE ARE TRYING TO EAT. Aaaargh!!. Listen FA, your customer base is old and dying and you are going with it. It’s a shame to see but a choice you make i guess.

Ordered a lot of different breakfasts from the menu. The Roanoke omelette was delicious. The Blueberry pancakes were and the French toast was very good. They have an all you can eat shrimp meal on Friday’s. Also mimosas are available all day.

Third time we have ordered food from here and the order is wrong again and food is cold. They blame door dash for the wrong order even though the receipt they attach to bag is ours. Manager said that the door dash driver probably switched the receipts and that it has happened before. The first person I talked to was cursing on the phone and everything saying she ain’t dealing with this shit. Used be a good place to eat, good food and service. Now it’s below average.

9/22/2023 – chicken parm, knew I shouldn’t ordered here, as water-downed pasta and sauce and cheap portions for price. 1 pc of cheap breaded chicken bought from a distributor. I poured some tomato soup off the plate. I left the server $2, should have been nothing as she knew how I was extremely dissatisfied with meal and showed her why and she did nothing to ask if she could discount the meal as any good food establishment would!
