I’ve been coming to Family Pizzeria for years, and even left them a 5-star review over 7 years ago. After a long break since 2020, I finally made it back—and I’m happy to say the place is just as great, if not better, than I remember.
The dining room is clean, cozy, and welcoming with exposed brick, friendly vibes, and plenty of seating. The staff was warm and attentive throughout our visit, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. It was great to see the same sense of family and community I remembered from before.
We started with their tortellini soup and stuffed garlic bread—fresh, hot, and comforting. For entrées, we had the spaghetti and meatballs and the lasagna. Both were flavorful, generous in portion, and served piping hot. The sauce is rich and classic, the kind that sticks with you in a good way.
Family Pizzeria still lives up to its name—great food, great service, and a place that feels like home. I came back to upgrade my review, and I’m glad I did. If you’re looking for an authentic local spot with hearty Italian comfort food, this is it.

As I was visiting my cousin and we ate at this remarkable restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and totally affordable! I ordered an eggplant and garlic calzone thinking it was going to be a small portion. To my surprise it was HUGE for only $15!!!! I ate a quarter of it and was so stuffed. I had to get a to-go-container. My family ordered spaghetti and large meatballs. They couldn’t finish their portions either.
Unfortunately the service was not my cup of tea. Extremely disappointed. I had to bag my own food and wait a considerably long time to be served. Somewhat ignored by the waiter.
I would have given this restaurant a one star or negative zero star rating because of the poor customer service. However, the food was way too good to mess up such greatness! I hope they’ll have waitresses with a better quality of service soon. I will definitely do take out instead.

Great food, bonus that they are good people as well. Europa became our quick Go-To since moving to Springfield. Really delicious pizza and generous on the toppings. Have seen them making charity / fundraising donations as well.

We decided to try Family Pizza because we had a discount from AARP. The owner who was rude refused to accept it and said it was a fraud. I’ve used it at many establishments and never had this trouble. We will never go back again.
