New to Reading from Philadelphia, Family Garden was the 1st place I could find my favorite, Egg Foo Young. Not to mention at prices that made sense. I paid twice as much elsewhere for a Wonton Soup and you’d have thought “the other place” had to go hunt Wontons for me.
Great food, great prices… a hidden gem I luckily stumbled upon in my quest for worthy Chinese.
Oh my, I almost sounded like a “My Cousin Vinny” character!

The woman at the counter is always friendly as welcoming. I got a free iced tea last visit for already being there nearly every week.
Now, to say something not good to be fair and honest.
I was not a fan of the Moo Sho Gai Pan. Though, to be fair I’d never had it before and didn’t know what it was. I somehow expected soup? My bad.
They did a special order on my General’s Chicken for mild as well.

I found this place while looking for a place to eat Chinese food and let me tell you this place did not disappoint me. Food was great. Service was fast, friendly and respectful. The shrimp fried rice with boneless ribs was amazing. This is the first time that I get tender boneless ribs, usually they are hard and difficult to chew at other restaurants. Here I don’t have that issue they are tender and this is why I always go here. The other thing that I’ve order from here is the shrimp with Broccoli and shrimp fried rice. Also amazing, big shrimps and delicious. The chicken wings are delicious as well. I also like their sesame chicken, the only thing is that you have to ask them to add bean sprouts. But other than that everything is great. Fast service. The prices are fair. Usually when I go I find a parking spot. Dining area was clean. I will continue eating here cause I like this place.

DO NOT EAT FROM HEREEEEE the food is disgusting. Everyone please read the reviews before you go here. This is the second time we order the fried chicken from here and my husband got sick and is now puking everywhere.

Ordered 3 meals. The food smelled like the meat was spoiled. The rice was not cooked all the way. Not the first time my food from here was horrible. Will never order from here again. If you eat from here prepare to get sick.

I just ordered food and the whole order was messed up. I Ordered the beef and broccoli with extra sauce on the beef and broccoli said this numerous times got it.And there was hardly any sauce.Asked for a quart of white rice got a quart of pork fried rice instead Me and my family have been going here for years. I live in Shillington and drove all the into town to get a messed up order.

Friday Night:
Ordered delivery, two meals one fried rice with pork boneless ribs, the other shrimp w vegetables. The ribs were chewy and tasted processed, The rice was undercooked as it was still hard. The vegetables on the shrimp were low quality. Unfortunately i didn’t take no pictures in further detail as i was disappointed & frustrated i wasted money on mid food.
On top of that the order took almost 2hours to arrive which i don’t understand because im only 5-10mins away in reading.
Wouldn’t recommend ordering at night as the quality and service is horrible.

The food is ok. Make sure you eat the food before it cools off. The spanish girl taking the orders is rude. I prefer the Chinese girl to answer the calls and take the orders. She very friendly and helpful
