When i want a buffet with American, Chinese, Sushi and Mongolian beef…. this my go to! I NEVER leave hungry. And the hoy tea is very nice.

After coming to so many Chinese buffets, you just kinda know what to expect. I can tell you that the food was excellent based on my experience. I was expecting a mediocre experience based on the size of the building outside, but the restaurant and the selection inside is surprisingly varied. This definitely isn’t a $20 lunch buffet, but you’ll certainly be happy you came, happy with the price you paid, and happy that you’re leaving full. I walked out of here paying $14.12 for lunch buffet, and that was with the cost of a drink. It’s also worth mentioning that the bathrooms were clean and smelled fresh. Trust me, that’s a great thing considering I’ve been to some buffets where you’d lose the lunch you just ate by going to the bathroom. Well, that’s not here! The stall doors are even lower to the ground for added privacy!

This is the first time I’ve been at Family Buffet and well worth it. The food could be a little hotter but very delicious. I really enjoyed the people here. Seating was great. Restrooms are tidy and the hot water works well. A lot of food served for the money. I’ll definitely be back for more. Try it, you’ll enjoy it.

Food was good and had a great selection. They weren’t very busy though, so a lot of the food was old and needed replaced. We got charged for an extrab soda through some confusion but at least their fair prices made me not really care. Id recommend it and I’d eat here again.

Three or four years ago, this used to be the best Asian food in Burlington. I had not eaten there since then. When I went back a few weeks ago, it really wasn’t tasty. I couldn’t rate any dish above mediocre. The staff was not friendly, like the old staff was. There were people doing takeout that acted like they were the only ones in the restaurant. One lady took up the entire side of one of the hot buffet sections. She had her body and trays covering the entire side and no one could share space.

My husband and I spent a weekend in Burlington and this is where we decided to eat. We were so satisfied we ate here both Saturday and Sunday.
I know people like to pooh-pooh buffets, but.. This place rivals any Chinese buffet we have ever been to in Iowa. I’m aware that there *is* better Chinese food out there, and usually order-in, but we are big protein and veggie eaters so aren’t super picky anyway as long as there’s plenty of variety of meat. I would say we are not alone because the place was fairly busy both days around 5-7pm.
Their sweet shrimp tastes similar to Panda E’s honey shrimp but 100x better. Good lo mein, chicken and broc, a few American options, and there was pork and beef as well. Servers were friendly and polite. Food tasted fresh. The price was reasonable. If I am ever in the area again I will be back.

Why have I never been there before? First time there. Buffet was amazing and there were so many choices. Service was perfect. Nice and polite and didn’t hover. Definitely will go again.
