Photos don’t do this restaurant justice! It’s a beautiful ambiance and vibe and the food was great. The service we had with Jake was great. I have food allergies and he took note and helped me navigate their extensive menu. I had two eggs, fresh fruit, toast, and bacon and it was all delicious. My daughter had a very large pancake and they were even able to add chocolate chips upon her request. If you’re in Myrtle Beach on vacation, this is a great breakfast stop.

Family Barn is a great family place for dining. Jake, our server, gave us his undivided attention. Linda, the grandmother and proprietor of this great establishment, explained about how the Family Barn began. We appreciated her telling us the history behind it. Kaitlyn, another server, was also helpful and cheerful. Thanks for the most delicious breakfast and grand experience, Family Barn. We hope to visit you again when we come back to town.

Holy Jesus this place needs to be advertised more. It is definitely the best kept secret in Myrtle Beach, and it’s SOO affordable! Staff was super friendly, they literally cooked me a full breakfast in 5 mins or less… And it was heavenly. I can’t explain to you in full depth how for 35 years of my life I’ve been doing everything wrong with $15 at waffle house and even $3 at mcdonalds; nothing beats Family Barn for $10. I will be eating here for about 25,608 more times in the rest of my life. My hats off to all the employees there and the owner. I will spread the word

First time visitor here!! Went into this restaurant today. It was me, my fiancee, and my son who is 3. Ordered myself the breakfast bowl and added grits to it. Ordered my son the 2 pancakes and added whipped cream from kids menu. Ordered my fiancee the farmer special. My son’s pancakes had no whipped cream but we were still charged for it. My fiancee’s food was correct and good. But my food had to be sent back to the kitchen 3 times. Pepper shaker come open and half the shaker went in my food. Sent to kitchen and remade. Then when I got it, there was a long black hair in it. Sent back to kitchen yet again and remade. It was fine this time but then I realized they forgot the sausage gravy that goes on top. The waitress was very polite the entire time and very apologetic. She brought me a plate with 3 pieces of bacon. Got the bill when we were done. Charged full price for everything and even the whipped cream that was never put on my son’s pancakes. I asked to speak with a manager. Gentleman come over said that he would take care of the 50 cents for whipped cream and he would see what he could figure out about the other. Needless to say, nothing was done about anything. So I guess they are okay with customer’s meals having to be remade multiple times over their carelessness.

We tried Family Barn for the first time recently. The online menus on their website weren’t working and the ones posted on Google weren’t up to date, so we ended up having to change our order on the fly based on what they actually had that day. Unfortunately they didn’t mention everything they did have so we chose things that we wouldn’t have otherwise. And they didn’t add one thing we did request so it got left out of the order. The pork chops were good. Mac and cheese was just ok. The shrimp and grits were also good but with too much sauce,not enough grits. Check for the most recent menus – the ones that were online were OLD prices for some items. I took photos of the current menu.

If you need some good home cooked southern food, this is your place! Katelyn ( or Caitlyn) was awesome! So happy, so funny and so accommodating! If it was opened past two, I would’ve been back for dinner. Great breakfast, great bloody marys, great fried chicken!
Their sweet Southern style makes the food taste better!
The toughest decision is cornbread or a biscuit… Both were awesome ! Definitely make time for this gem when you’re in Myrtle Beach!
