Came here after dinner, came to try some pastry. The servers were very nice. My son has serious tree nut allergies and I am glad they knew right away what we should not ordered. The deserts are light and flaky, sweet but not overly sweet. Would come back and try some entrees next time

We ordered shawarma for lunch, and it was the best decision! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and packed with incredible flavor. Every bite was loaded with fresh, delicious ingredients, and the balance of flavors was amazing. Everything tasted so authentic and satisfying — truly one of the best shawarmas we’ve had in a long time! Highly recommend.

Absolutely love this place! Every single product we’ve tried from Family Bakery in Palm Desert has been incredible—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can taste the quality in every bite. It’s obvious they use top-tier ingredients from around the world and stick to original, time-tested recipes.

One of the coolest parts is the open layout—you can actually see the team making pastries, bread, and other items right in front of you. It gives the whole experience an authentic, artisanal feel. What really stands out though is the energy. The entire family is involved, and you can feel how much love and passion they pour into this place. It’s more than a bakery—it’s their dream in motion. Can’t recommend it enough.

We had heard great things about Family Bakery since we moved to Palm Desert. Having lived in Los Angeles and having been tremendous fans of Armenian food, we longed for a source of great delicacies.
Anyone stopping by this morning shortly after opening time would have seen us going from display case to display case, feeling so happy to find hand made honey cakes, dolma grape leaves with rice, bakhlava, lahmajoun Armenian pizza, beef pelmeni, napoleons, carrot cake, pomegranate juice, fruit preserves, young walnut conserve, and pepper sauces. The hand made pita and smoked cheeses are so delicious! I even zoomed in on a beautiful rye bread from Lithuania.
I found containers of sesame seeds for my own breadmaking.
We had to step away from all these wonderful creations and we finally left with two bags filled with pita, dolmas, walnut conserve, honey cake, eclair, pelmeni, rye bread, and napoleon.
This shopping area is easy to reach right west of Portola on the 111.
The owners, Diana and Ashwan are extremely talented and helpful. They offer savory foods like kebabs, puri bread, stuffed meat pies.
Their foods are also available on Door Dash they told us.
Recently they increased their hours to 9am to 8pm only closing on Tuesdays.
We are so excited to find this beautiful shop with delicious foods. Run-don’t walk to see what’s there!!

Really a nice place with authentic food and family feel. Everyone who works there is friendly, really lovely people. They have European style pastries, Mediterranean ingredients that can be hard to find, like pomegranate syrup and really good feta cheese. And the baklava is delicious.

My wife and I have been wanting to try this new establishment for some time. I am so glad we were able to make time to and stop by. We love food, authentic and delicious food. We’ve been fortunate to live and eat all over the country, we always seek small businesses like these that serve food that they would eat themselves and serve their families. The service here was great, extremely hospitable, patient, explained everything with great detail and pride. We’re so glad we took recommendations from the owner, it was all delicious and we had a wonderful meal.

We sat inside in the small bistro table, just the two of us. We had the Lahmajun with meat to start, for each of us. Very good texture and flavorful. We enjoyed the chicken Kebab, the plate was enough for us both to share, the meat so juicy and flavorful. Fresh! She did explain it would be 25 minutes for them to cook it fresh, worth the wait! We had her favorite Black Curant Drink (Kalinov Lemonade) and we’re glad she suggested it, it was tasty and sweet, paired well with the savory food. We both saved just enough room for the Honey Cake (Medovik) and it was amazing. Kind of like a Honey Tiramisu? Great texture, flavor, and filled with a variety of tastes. It was great! Next time we will definitely try their Baklava, wanted to get some homemade Hummus too.

All in all, the place was very good. We will definitely return in the future. Look forward to it and getting to know the owners more during our next visit.
