I’ve read all the reviews. Everyone has a different experience depending on the day, what’s on the buffet, who’s cooking or who’s waiting on you. Each time I’ve ate lunch here and it’s been more than a few over the past 25 + years, I’ve had a very good experience. The food was good whether off the food bar or off the menu. I know the owner. She’s a hardworking woman and would always want her customers to have the best experience possible. Like all restaurants, there are some things that could always be a little better, that’s why it’s not a 5 star, but for my part, I’ve never been disappointed. My only advice, is go when they are busy. That’s when you will get the best service and the best food. You may have to wait a bit, don’t go if you are in a hurry and they are busy. There are only so many hands in a locally owned restaurant. And I also advise that if you are not happy with your food or your service, ask to talk with the manager or owner. They can’t know your experience or satisfaction unless you tell them and if they are the type that pays attention, they will fix it!

Family affair in Salvisa was great. Talked to the chef, Beth, and she put biscuits in her stewed tomatoes. Mind blown. She and another cook were very open to talk about the dishes. Soup beans were excellent. catfish was light and crunchy. Pleasant all around. Been mentioned a turkey Sunday supper that I will be trying soon. Biscuits in the cornbread dressing!! Excited

Small buffet with delicious home cooking. I highly recommend the salmon patties along with the beans and cornbread! There was a salad bar and several desserts to choose from. Even though it was a very busy day due to the annual 127 Yardsales, we were still seated quickly, and the waitress was polite and attentive. Cook came out and talked to each table.

We went to eat there, and it was expensive. Like $14 a person plus drinks! Had a unclean bathroom, Yuck.. Also there was hair in my mashed potatoes. Also when I was in there i noticed it was all elderly people no young and everyone was talking. The sweet tea definitely needed alot more water aswell and the food was cold and made me a little sick after eating jt.

If you want great home cooking, then you should definitely stop by and see these fine people. The food is always good no matter if you have the buffet or order from the menu.

Food was food, nothing to write home about, but it wasn’t terrible. Service was usual for a buffet. My husband and I were talking about coming back another day to try a different meat. We stood up to leave and 2 young, well dressed black men walked in, they checked out the buffet and chatted for a minute before leaving, I’m guessing they weren’t all to impressed with the options either. I ran to the bathroom while my husband paid, I heard somebody hollering from the dining room, I came out and we left. My husband was highly upset, I asked why, turns out that the hollering was from another man who either works there or is just a regular, he came right in the door and yelled “what we ain’t got nothing for the brothers?, there’s fried chicken on the bar, I can go get some watermelon, or catch em a chicken and cut it up for em”. After hollering loud enough for me to hear him from the bathroom, another table of regulars joined in on the laugh, while the cashier/service told him to “stop it justin” laughingly. Quite frankly, it doesn’t matter if he was an employee or regular customer, this behavior is vulgar and ignorant, and should not be laughingly acceptable in any public place, especially a place where families are meant to be accepted. 2 stars for the food, but we would never return, especially with our family.

Absolutely horrible from the waitress to the food. Very small buffet for the price, food was ice cold, corn bread was hard as a rock, beans are from a can, and nothing but fish for meat. I don’t eat fish! No one asked us how our meal was, if we needed drink refills, or anything else. $35 for two buffets, 1 tea, and 1 water. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE BEFORE YOU WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!

We ate here as part of a large group because reservations were required. We were seated at 1:20 for the lunch buffet that was supposed to open at 1:30. No one took our drink orders for more than 10 minutes. You could not just go to the buffet, they called individual groups to come up so it was after 2:00 before we were called up. The first parts of the bar were desserts, set with random broccoli casseroles. There was some type of dressing but it was mush. For meats there was a really dry shredded turkey, sliced country ham, and some other ham in a gloopy pineapple sauce. It was all luke warm. The other sides were dehydrated mashed potates, canned grean beans that were swimming, sweet potato casserole, some type of oyster casserole, canned corn, and some mushy pre bought rolls. Everything was luke warm and really salty. The facilities are in really poor shape and need serious repair. There is no handicapped parking and the bathrooms are single occupant, not handicap accessible either. The last health inspection had a B rating. With an hour and a half total time limit from seating until you have to leave, and bland, unappealing food I have to give a hard pass from now on

If you care about staying safe from Covid-19, this is not the place for you. I saw many employees walking around without masks. The host said they had a medical condition that prevented them from wearing a mask and had no problem serving us our food. the person I assume was the chef wasn’t wearing a mask either. several people came to stock the buffet without a mask. They had brownies sitting in the middle of the restaurant with no cover.
