I ordered the fried pickles for appetizer and chicken tenders for the main dish. Both were outstanding; you can taste that they use fresh high-quality ingredients. I’m a bit of a frickle connoisseur and fussy when my favorite dish is not prepared to perfection, they nailed it.
But by far, the best part of the whole experience was the service. Our server was Luis V. and it is without reservation or exaggeration that I can say the he was the BEST I’ve had since I’ve been in Raleigh (7 years).
We were still dining past closing and Luis still made sure we had everything we needed and never made us feel rushed at all. He was patient and took his time to explain the some of the new choices on the menu. Particularly impressive was that he remembered our whole order without writing it down! He made us fell like we were at five-star restaurant.
It’s clear that Falls prioritizes the customer experience and I can’t say enough good things about my time there. But big props to Luis V., they are fortunate to have such a wonderful ambassador.

the food was awesome! fried pickles were the best i’ve ever had. ranch was a little runny but still good. firecracker shrimp was amazing. definitely get it for the table.
burger was super juicy and flavorful. added an extra patty for $3.50, and it hit the spot. only small complaint was the pickle spear tasting like straight vinegar. wish the bun was toasted, but that’s just me being picky.
overall, great spot. would definitely come back!
The newly opened restaurant is located in a great area, offering friendly service and good food. The environment, however, is quite plain, lacking any distinctive cultural or thematic flair that would make it stand out.
Atmosphere 5.0/10:
Clean and functional, but very basic and unadorned, offering little beyond the essentials for dining. There’s no unique decor or ambiance that reflects a specific culture or theme.
Service 6.8/10:
Staff members were friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant maintained a high standard of cleanliness.
Irish Nachos 6.1/10:
A unique take with homemade chips and standard toppings. The cheese was notably good, featuring a subtle beer flavor that was intriguing without being overpowering.
Smashburger 5.8/10:
A decent burger with high-quality meat, though the patty was smaller than expected for the price. Tasty but nothing extraordinary.
Mac and Cheese 7.1/10:
Deliciously prepared with a slight hint of beer in the melted cheese, which added a unique twist. The macaroni was perfectly cooked, making it an excellent side dish.
Value 6.0/10:
Fairly priced overall, considering the quality of food and service, though some items like the burger could offer better value in terms of portion size.
Another bright addition to the Wendell Falls dining scene. The decor is a little sterile and austere, but the super friendly and competent staff provide plenty of warmth and good vibes. Falls offers a wide selection of specialty draft beers, as well as many of the old favorites. The well-stocked bar includes all the basics plus a number of choice rye whiskeys and bourbons. The menu contains a variety of appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, sides, pizzas and desserts. All the sandwiches are available as a wrap – a nice option.
The Shrimp Po Boy ($16 with a side) is loaded with lightly fried shrimp and served with a lively bang-bang sauce – a very satisfying sandwich. Wings come either bone-in (6 for $9.50) or boneless (6 small for $9) and are served with Celery and Ranch or Blue Cheese Dip. I enjoyed the bone-in with their hottest seasoning – which was not especially hot. My one complaint was that the dips were a little thin and watery. The Cheesesteak Egg Rolls ($13) were pretty bland, but were much improved with the Thai Chili Sauce (probably will not order this again).
The pizzas, while not New York style, are exceptionally good. The Meat Lovers ($15) is piled high with Ground Beef, Pepperoni, Salami and Bacon and cooked until almost burnt (the proper way to cook a pizza in my book). We also enjoyed the Irish Nachos ($12). The crackly House-made Chips were topped with Red Onions, Black Olives, Bacon Bits, Scallions, Cheddar Cheese and Sour Cream; and really came to life with the Ranch Dipping Sauce.
One of our favorite appetizers is the Falls Firecracker Shrimp ($13). The generous serving of Breaded Fried Shrimp is tossed in a somewhat spicy bang-bang sauce and has a nice crunch. The Cuban Sandwich ($16 with Chips or Fries) is another winner. The Mojo-marinated Pork, Ham, Swiss, Mustard and Pickle are pressed into a semi-crusty roll and toasted just enough to melt the cheese. A delicious satisfying meal.
We simply had to try the Banana Pudding Cookie Butter Cheesecake ($9.50) – over the top yummy.
