Clawdia’s Table Stop: Fajita Pete’s – Southlake, TX

Today we stopped by Fajita Pete’s in Southlake, and it turned into one of those meals where you immediately start planning your next visit.

Rory and I both ordered the Tacos Al Carbón — one beef and one chicken each, served with rice, beans, chips, and salsa. Everything here is made in house, and you can absolutely taste the difference.

The tortillas deserve their own standing ovation. They are some of the best I’ve had — soft, warm, slightly toasted, and sturdy enough to hold all that goodness without falling apart.

The beef taco was incredibly tender with a bright lime flavor that made it feel fresh and perfectly balanced. The chicken taco was juicy with just the right smoky flavor, like it had come straight off a grill.

The rice and beans were a delightful addition — comforting, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the tacos. Add in fresh chips and salsa, and the whole plate just works.

Sometimes the best meals are the simple ones done really well, and Fajita Pete’s absolutely nails it.

⭐ Would I order it again? Without hesitation.

If you’re in Southlake and craving great tacos with handmade tortillas, this spot is definitely worth a stop.

We LOVED this place. Came here with 5 people to celebrate our Thanksgiving meal as a family since we are out of town. There are 2 tables but it was no problem to sit and eat here. The food came out fresh, quick, and hot. SO yummy we loved our experience. One of the women chefs brought out so much food for us and was so sweet. Def come here!

I had lunch at Fajita Pete’s. The lack or inadequacy of the dining area is first disappointment but soon forgotten by surprisingly tasty food. Don’t give me wrong! You aren’t eating at my favorites like Christina’s or Obuelos. The food was better than I expected. The price was pretty stiff, I thought. I wished they had more selection on beverages, though. They could definitely work on the interior layout.

If you’re searching for a spot that captures the essence of authentic Tex-Mex cuisine with a comforting, homemade feel, Fajita Pete’s is a location you simply must try. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place has a way of turning a quick meal into a memorable dining experience.
During my visit, I decided to try the chicken quesadilla, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of delightful. The quesadilla was perfectly grilled, with a crisp exterior that encased a generous filling of tender, marinated chicken. The chicken was seasoned impeccably, offering a burst of flavor with every bite. Accompanying the chicken were melted cheeses that added a creamy richness, making each mouthful more satisfying than the last.
To complement my meal, I paired it with a Jarritos, and the combination was a match made in culinary heaven. The fizzy, fruit-flavored soda added a refreshing contrast to the savory quesadilla, enhancing the overall dining experience.
What makes Fajita Pete’s a must-visit is not just the food, but the warmth and hospitality that the staff extends to every guest. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends. The service is prompt and friendly, making sure you feel taken care of from the moment you walk in.
Overall, Fajita Pete’s manages to deliver an authentic taste of Tex-Mex in a setting that’s both inviting and convenient. If you find yourself craving rich flavors and a hearty meal, make sure to stop by and savor what they have to offer. You won’t be disappointed!

Loved the beef & chicken. Great guacamole, bell peppers and sides. This is primarily a take out/delivery place, but they have a few tables. Staff young but hustled, attentive & friendly. Frozen Margarita is a loser. Artificial mix flavor. Tortillas are huge burrito size, but somewhat flavorless. I like that nothing was over-salted.

It is a very simple restaurant with wonderfully delicious food. I believe most of their business is take out and catering, but we dined inside. Great food, excellent folks!!!

We got it to go and there were no chips given alongside the Queso medium side we ordered. Also, the beef for the fajitas was one of the worst we ever had. It’s like they drenched it in lime and the texture was weird as well. Couldn’t taste anything but lime in the meat. Last of all the sides were not enough for even 3 people when we ordered fajitas for 6(4pack + 2pack).

Disappointing, we heard this was suppose this place served one of the best fajitas in DFW but even without that expectation it gave us a below subpar experience.

Solidly okay experience. It came highly recommended so I had assumed I’d like it a lot but it fell flat in a lot of ways. I should have read reviews prior but don’t plan on eating in. They do have a couple tables but it’s really not a great dining experience, lol. We don’t live close so didn’t have a choice but I’d have preferred to not. The salsa is also piping hot, like – temperature hot, steaming, and that’s a HUGE turn off to me. Cold salsa for me only lol. The tortillas leave a lot to be desired but the beef fajita meat was pretty good and not burnt/overcooked like most restaurant fajitas are which I appreciated it. The other sides including white queso are, again, solidly okay. Customer service was fine but nobody seemed like they really wanted to be there. All around a slightly awkward restaurant encounter and I doubt we’ll be back. Not sure what all the fuss is about, honestly.

Delicious food! The Fajita Salad was perfect – the meat perfectly seasoned and tender; the Queso is definitely liquid gold! The owner, John, is a really nice family man and business man. The GM, Chris is a great man too. It’s exciting to see businesses opening during this time! Thank you for being a member of the DFW community, we look forward to being a part of your journey growing your franchises!
