There was only one problem…. Normally I give servers the benefit of the doubt, normally the server will come around if you’re waiting for a while and give an update. I kid you not – we sat nearly 45min before the appetizers were out, and another hour before the food was out….
We showed up early at 4:30 to get the ribs, by the time the waitress took our order the ribs were already sold out. Anyway, it definitely wasn’t the norm because multiple larger tables around us ordered, ate and left before our food even came out.
But hey, it came out hot and good so the place still gets 5 stars.
Server was very one star – .
4:30 sat down
5:17 appetizers out
5:51 ordered
6:40 food out
6:50 asked if we want boxes
6:56 brought checks out
A great place to hang out, visit friends or just relax and enjoy some really good grilled and smoked foods.
My wife had the Korean BBQ Burger with the restaurant’s fresh made potato chips and pickle spear. It was a burger of the month in 2024. And I had the Big Bang Burger, this month’s burger of the month for 2026. It also came with the same chips and pickle spear as well.
We ordered the burgers cooked medium. 8 oz of grade A cow meat cooked to perfection. Both burgers were shared between both of us and we just looked at each other and nodded our heads in approval. So good and messy (a good messy) I was constantly wiping my fingers and beard.
Kudos to the chef/cook/grill guy or gal. Whoever you are, you done exceedingly well!!
If you’re in the Fairplain WV area and you don’t stop by, you’ll miss a diamond in the making.
Thanks for the eating experience.
Got the Jameson and the Barnyard. The sauce in the Jameson is really good. Got the hot cheese balls since they were noted as a favorite on the menu, they were on the firmer side. Cheese substance was unappealing. Got the onion rings, very lackluster; on the negative side was the tartar sauce, it came out room temperature.
2021 visit review: Got the Bavarian, Going Down in Flames, pickle burger, onion rings, fries, and two kid meals.
Burgers were flavorful and cooked exactly as requested.
Disappointed the Going Down in Flames used pickled jalapeño slices.
The Bavarian is exceptionally well salted, too much for me, but I am guessing the amount used is good with a majority of people.
The pickle burger, while unique, didn’t particularly standout in any manner.
Great service, inviting dining environment, and clean restaurant. The prices were on the high side compared to similar establishments in greater WV, PA, and MD area (cost and quality) else I would give this place a higher rating.
Burgers are HUGE so don’t order a lot of appetizers. Was a bit bummed to see they no longer offered rings of fire, but the great burger made up for it.
Will definitely eat here again the next time we are selling cattle in this area.
